Sayuri Ichinose

Sayuri Ichinose: Chizuru's grandmother. She was hospitalized at Itabashi Third Hospital. She was once a brilliant actress known by the name Sayuri Otori. When Chizuru was young, her father left home, and with her mother and grandfather already deceased, Sayuri was Chizuru's only remaining family. She occasionally made jokes hinting that her time was near. Upon learning that Chizuru was dating Kazuya, she became close with Kazuya's grandmother, Kazuya's grandmother affectionately called her "Sayutaso." Later, she was discharged and went to a hot spring inn with Kazuya's family. Shortly after, she was readmitted for further tests. During Chizuru and Kazuya's joint birthday party, her condition worsened, and she was told by the doctor that she didn't have much time left. Despite this, she acted in a way to not worry those around her, but Kazuya's grandmother saw through it. Her condition suddenly changed during a preview of an independent film. She was able to watch parts of the film at the hospital where she was taken, and after conveying her feelings to Chizuru, she passed away.
