"I"

I is a slender young man who is 19 years old. He was born in March, comes from Kobe, and has AB, Rh-negative blood. People often say he would look good in girly clothes. He has a distinctive "ahoge" (a strand of hair sticking up). In pictures, he's often seen in clothes with a double circle design.

I is known for being lonely, longing for friends, and having very low self-esteem. He is friendly but often feels like an outsider. He is easily attracted to women, especially older ones, though younger girls often like him. Even though he dislikes noisy places, he sometimes joins parties. He does not like to drink alcohol after one incident made him very sick. I is bad at remembering things, struggles with following advice, and often ignores big problems, sometimes causing trouble for others. He also loves maids and does not know much about Japanese geography.

I grew up in Kobe and joined the ER3 System in his second year of middle school. He stayed there for five years until his best friend, Shin'ei Magokoro, died, which made I drop out. Now, he rents a room on the second floor of an old apartment and goes to Rokumeikan University in Kyoto.

Though he is called "the weakest," I actually has some fighting skills for a normal person. He is left-handed but can use both hands well, so people find it hard to know his true dominant hand. He also is good at driving almost anything if a license is not needed. He owns an automatic car license. After a story event, he gets a Vespa scooter from Aoii Mikoji and later gets a Jericho 941 gun in another story.

I is the opposite of a character named Jinshiki Zerozaki, who calls I a "defective product." Only three people have called I by his real name, and none of them are alive now. He used to be close to Shin'ei Magokoro and attended a party for Miyoshi Shinji when he quit ER3.

The Mystery of His Real Name

I's real name remains a secret throughout the entire series. There is even a quiz with Hagihara Shiogi to guess his name, but no real answer is ever given. When he finally states it, it appears as "×××××," leaving the readers guessing.

Life After ER3 System

I left the ER3 System after losing his best friend. Later, he lives alone in an old apartment and goes to university in Kyoto, but he struggles with loneliness and trouble from his choices.

Important Story Events

After some dangerous events and people getting hurt because of his choices, I receives a Vespa from Aoii Mikoji. He also acquires a Jericho 941 firearm and gradually gains more risky experience.

Later Life as a Freelancer

After the main story, I drops out of university and becomes a freelancer, taking on various jobs.
