She is a senior teacher at Luna Nova and the strict, conservative head of academic affairs and student guidance. She first appears in the movie, where she teaches synthesis magic. In the television series, she is responsible for teaching magic linguistics and levitation magic. She is especially strict towards the underachiever Atsuko "Akko" Kagari. In episode 13 of the TV series during the magic festival, her name "Anne" is confirmed on her nameplate.
