Carlo Rossetti was an outstanding magic tool artisan who created numerous magical devices and was awarded the title of Honorary Baron for his achievements. However, he suddenly collapsed and passed away at the Mercantile Guild. During his lifetime, Carlo often offered favors and created various "debts" with people he worked with in order to benefit them. He left a will stating that these connections would be useful for Dahlia Rossetti should she ever interact with those individuals in the future. This will included the condition that nothing should be revealed until Dahlia became involved with them, a stipulation that those involved honored, albeit with complicated feelings.
Additionally, at the end of each volume of the light novel, there are special side stories featuring episodes from Carlo Rossetti's life. These stories reveal aspects of his past and circumstances that were unknown to Dahlia Rossetti.
