Zanzo Kazai

Age: Approximately 400 years old (specifically 384 years old from the Edo period).

Hobbies: Baseball fanatic, frequently re-watches his favorite Omaga matches, and enjoys discussing "Hypnosis Mic" while transformed into a woman.

Zanzo Kazai is the venerable leader and No. 1 of the Eight Imperial Ninja, as featured in "Ninja Vs. Gokudo." He has been alive since the Edo period.

The Great Fire of Meireki, a historical catastrophe, was sparked by a battle between him and Bansuiin Chobei, the top Gokudo of Edo. Zanzo has secretly gathered allies and continuously fought to protect the populace from the misdeeds of the Gokudo.

He possesses a strong sense of justice and cares deeply for his comrades, but can also make shrewd and ruthless decisions as a leader. In the spin-off "The Lion's Flower," it's suggested he might be bisexual due to his activities as a "Pan Pan" (prostitute) during the post-war Showa era.

All-Form All-Ability

This unique physique embodies the idea of being able to do anything and become anyone. Zanzo can transform his appearance, gender, physique, height, and weight, even copying the unique abilities of other ninjas, making him the strongest ninja.

He is adept at "development," turning one into two, but struggles with "invention," creating something out of nothing, likely due to his innate genius. In this regard, Kaiza Akiba, with her high creativity, was his ideal partner.

Techniques Used

Ninja Hand: Dark Blade: This piercing hand technique, developed by Kaiza Akiba, allows him to easily destroy human bodies by moving faster than sound using his ninja physical abilities.

Ruyi Staff: A ninjutsu (unique physical trait) copied from Kaiza Akiba. It allows him to freely extend his forearms to attack distant enemies.

Return of the Old Arm and Young Fire: A combined technique copied from Ruyi Staff and Nodoka Matsumoto's "Blazing Bloom." He swings his extended arms, throwing scorching skin fragments around.

Sleeping Palm Skull Path: A ninjutsu (acquired unique physical trait) copied from Shiki Yamada. It releases toxic gas from his palm to induce sleep in opponents. While not as powerful as when used by Shiki, especially as it was used under the influence of Beauty's "Wandering Spiral Corridor" hypnosis, it was still effective enough to relax enemies to the point of being susceptible to reverse hypnosis.

Divine Punishment Inferno Cave: A combined hypnotic technique using Sleeping Palm Skull Path and Wandering Spiral Corridor. It lowers the target's consciousness with Sleeping Palm Skull Path, then effectively uses the newly learned Wandering Spiral Corridor. He delved into Beauty's past and extinguished her survival instinct, leading her to self-harm. He noted that while hypnosis cannot break the survival instinct of someone unwilling to die, it can unearth and encourage the psychological push to "do it."

In the Main Story

Bishonen (Voiced by: Kensho Ono): His first appearance in the main story, copying a talent he saw in town.

Man with All-back Hair (Voiced by: Toshiyuki Morikawa): Used during a mission in Chapter 3. He stopped using this form after the Prime Minister saw his face during a battle with the "Seikaten" biker gang.

Blonde Beauty (Voiced by: Mariko Higashiuchi (Anime Ep. 2), Hisako Kanemoto (Anime Ep. 7)): Often uses this form at the "Ugo no Su" hideout and during a mission in Chapter 4. This form somewhat resembles Gamute's mother, Kibanri Rin.

Beast (Voiced by: Yuki Sampei): Appeared after the Blonde Beauty transformation, driven by rage after Kaiza Akiba was murdered.

Ichimaru Inspector (Voiced by: Kenji Kawada): His identity as a police inspector, used to investigate Gokudo incidents.

Brian (Voiced by: Serina Machiyama): Transforms into Omaga Hiroki's deceased fan boy to emotionally destabilize opponents.

King (Voiced by: Volcano Ota): Transforms into the major leaguer who inspired Omaga to play baseball. He engages Omaga in a home run duel (though the "balls" are each other's necks).

Cult Idol: An assassin from the "Broken Children" group. He impersonated her to gather information from other members.

Baby: Transformed into a baby to counter the Commander & Artillery duo who were targeting him with anti-tank cannons. He moved at high speed through the holes created by the cannon fire to reach his enemies.

Sakura Hasegawa: Sako Hasegawa's deceased father. He uses this form during a mission in Chapter 5.

In the Spin-off "The Lion's Flower"

Pan Pan: His form in post-war Tokyo. A small, dark-haired woman who sold herself to American soldiers and civilians to gather information on the Gokudo. She later reappeared with a new outfit as his form for a mission in Chapter 6.

Otoha Trading Company President: He killed and impersonated a corrupt president involved in land speculation and drug trafficking. He hired Kimira Shimon to assassinate Kaiza Akiba to help Kaiza develop new techniques.

In the Meireki era, he was known as Yamaji Kasai. He was a great friend of Tsukamoto Itaro, who would later become Bansuiin Chobei and cause a great catastrophe. Together, they protected the peace of Edo from criminals. This continued until the day Edo was engulfed in flames, marking the beginning of the eternal feud between ninjas and gokudo.
