In episode two, "The Tale of Bandai," a special yokai appears.
This monster is actually the ghost of a pilgrim who was tricked by the villagers and then eaten by Bandai.
After this, he changes and becomes known as the "Pilgrim Killer."
The Real Yokai Trouble
The villagers wanted someone to get rid of a scary yokai.
But the creature they wanted help with was not Bandai.
It was actually the Pilgrim Killer.
No Harm Done
Even though he became a yokai, the Pilgrim Killer did not want to hurt anyone else.
He had no bad intentions toward other people.
Kanekozou and Hyakkimaru’s Reaction
Because Hyakkimaru only senses and fights monsters who mean harm, he showed no reaction to the Pilgrim Killer.
This is why Kanekozou and his friends never battled him at all.
