Mizuki speaks little, but his presence carries enormous weight, and his teammates trust him deeply on and off the field.

He is serious and earnest by nature, yet he often ends up being unintentionally funny, making him both a leader and a constant source of humor.

He sometimes communicates using sound effects or remembers words with the wrong meanings, giving him a natural airheaded charm.

Despite his stoic aura, “the god of comedy” seems to follow him, and he frequently becomes the center of lighthearted moments.

When he sees the bizarre actions of Kiichi Ōshiba, he finds the ideas “fresh” and often joins in, only to be scolded or corrected by Atsushi Kimishita and others.

However, in important moments like hero interviews at the National Championship, he speaks clearly and properly, surprising teammates such as Jirou Haibara and Takanobu Hayase.

Yūta Usui comments that Mizuki is “strong in the real thing,” meaning he performs best when it truly matters.

Academically, he occasionally scores failing grades, but because his professional contract is already secured, he is allowed to prioritize soccer activities such as training camps.

When he first entered Seiseki High School, Mizuki originally intended to join the sumo club.

However, he discovered there was no sumo club at Seiseki.

At that time, he was invited to the soccer club by his classmate sitting in front of him, Soutarou Manaka.

Mizuki accepted immediately and joined as a complete beginner to the sport.

Manaka later left the team due to an injury (a bone avulsion fracture), and as they were placed in different classes in their second and third years, their contact gradually disappeared.

In their third year, when Manaka visited Mizuki’s class, Mizuki took the chance to express his gratitude for having invited him to the soccer club.

Mizuki entered Seiseki as a regular student with no soccer experience and started as a complete novice.

Through relentless effort, he transformed into such a dominant force that people began calling him a “monster” and the strongest player.

Even as his reputation grew and others began to look up to him, he did not stop improving.

He continues to grow without pause, sometimes showing dramatic development even during a single match.

He is always hungry for growth: when a teammate makes a good play, he will say “Teach me that later,” and he even tries to absorb techniques from his opponents.

This attitude makes him both a fearsome rival and an inspiring captain.

Mizuki is the captain and absolute core of Seiseki High School’s soccer team.

He is the team’s main scorer and emotional leader, the kind of player whose presence changes the entire atmosphere.

On the pitch, he leads by example rather than by long speeches.

Off the pitch, his reliability, toughness, and earnestness make him someone everyone instinctively follows.

He is particularly important in high-pressure situations, often making decisive plays near the end of matches.

Many games see him perform noticeably better in the second half than in the first.

Part of this comes from his need to “adjust” to the game, which can take some time.

Once he is fully tuned in, his stamina and mental resilience allow him to maintain a frightening level of intensity right up to the final whistle.

Even though his understanding of tactics is still relatively low due to his late start in soccer, his presence compensates for many of those shortcomings.

Coaches and teammates alike treat him as an irreplaceable ace.

With Tsukushi Tsukamoto

Mizuki takes a special liking to Tsukushi Tsukamoto, who, like him, joined as a soccer beginner.

He sees a lot of potential in Tsukushi and even tells Katsutoshi Nakazawa that Tsukushi will be captain in two years.

In the Inter-High semifinals, Tsukushi is substituted on and then later substituted off, which could be mentally crushing.

Mizuki steps in to defend and protect Tsukushi, showing his deep care as a leader.

In the Inter-High final against Sakuragi High School, Mizuki tells Tsukushi that there is “something he wants to tell him.”

Despite just returning from a serious injury, Mizuki goes all out from the first half, clearly motivated in part by what he wants to pass on to Tsukushi.

In the National Championship match against Sakuragi, his leg injury (described later) flares up again.

When he is substituted, he entrusts the captaincy to Tsukushi, handing him the captain’s armband.

Watching Tsukushi wear the armband, Mizuki says, “That guy really suits the captain’s armband,” reaffirming his belief in Tsukushi’s leadership.

This moment symbolizes the passing of responsibility from the current ace to the next generation.

With Atsushi Kimishita

Mizuki and Atsushi Kimishita form a deadly combination when playing as two forwards or in a dual-shadow role behind the striker.

Their synergy is highly rated, and together they become a terrifying attacking pair for opposing defenses.

Gen’ichiro Taira of Aohan High School also recognizes the strength of their partnership.

However, during an exhibition match against Aohan, Kimishita misreads Mizuki’s quietness when Taira psychologically agitates him, pushing their relationship temporarily into a dangerous misunderstanding.

Despite such occasional miscommunications, Kimishita trusts Mizuki’s scoring and physical presence, and Mizuki values Kimishita’s vision and passing.

Their complementary qualities are central to Seiseki’s attacking style.

With Kiichi Ōshiba and Others

Mizuki often reacts positively to Kiichi Ōshiba’s strange and unpredictable behavior, calling it “new” or interesting.

He sometimes joins Ōshiba’s antics, which leads to Kimishita and others having to play the role of the straight man, pointing out the absurdity.

With Jirou Haibara, Takanobu Hayase, and other seniors, he shares a strong mutual trust built through hardships in training and matches.

They are often shocked when his usually clumsy or comedic side disappears and he speaks with perfect composure in formal settings, like the hero interview.

Yūta Usui’s comment that Mizuki is “strong in the real thing” is based on many such experiences.

Though he may fumble in casual study or everyday talk, when the stakes are high, he is remarkably composed and effective.

During a training camp, Mizuki slips and falls in the bath, suffering a serious leg injury.

The injury is diagnosed as requiring four months to fully heal.

Because of this, he is not included in the squad for the Inter-High regional qualifiers.

His absence heavily impacts Seiseki, emphasizing how central he is to the team.

The injury later threatens to recur, especially during the high-intensity National Championship matches.

In the National Championship game against Sakuragi, the injury does in fact flare up again, forcing him off the field.

Even in pain, he thinks first of the team’s future, giving the captain’s armband to Tsukushi.

This shows that, while he is fiercely competitive, he is also willing to step aside for the sake of the team and its next leader.

Mizuki is not especially large in build, but his physical abilities are extraordinary.

He has enough strength to go toe-to-toe with big center backs and not be knocked off balance.

His style is that of a power forward, often likened to a heavy tank charging at full speed.

He thrives in physical duels, shrugging off defenders and driving straight toward goal.

One of his signature weapons is his instep shot, which he hits by hooking the ball with the base of his big toe.

This unique technique produces extremely powerful shots that are difficult for goalkeepers to read.

Takumi Hoshina calls him a “cannon” because of the sheer force of his shooting.

On at least one occasion, a shot he struck normally turned into a knuckleball (no-spin shot), astonishing both the crowd and Mizuki himself, who exclaimed something like, “What even was that?”

He has excellent goal-scoring instincts, often moving with an animal-like intuition rather than deliberate calculation.

His sense for where the ball will drop and where the goal-scoring chance will appear is one of his greatest strengths.

He frequently produces decisive plays in the dying minutes of matches.

This clutch ability is linked to his stamina and mental toughness, which allow him to keep running and fighting at full intensity right until the end.

However, because he started playing soccer relatively late, his technical and tactical foundations are still incomplete.

He sometimes mis-traps the ball, and his passing accuracy can be inconsistent, making certain aspects of his game look rough compared to more experienced players.

His tactical understanding is also not yet fully developed, so he may struggle with complex systems or patterns of play.

Even so, his raw physical gifts and goal threat compensate enough that he remains one of the top forwards in Tokyo.

Defense is not Mizuki’s strong suit, especially compared to specialist defenders or midfielders.

Yet, he is not the type to give up when he is being outplayed.

In the match against Ryōzan High School, he faces a brutal one-on-one battle with Ikariya.

At first he can hardly do anything against Ikariya and seems completely outmatched.

Even so, he keeps clinging on, refusing to be shaken off.

Eventually, he “awakens” mid-match, suddenly breaking through the mental and physical barrier that had stopped him.

Ikariya, who visualizes opponents in a psychological “wasteland” landscape inside his mind, is both shocked and pleased to see Mizuki stepping into “his world.”

He recognizes Mizuki as someone who can stand on the same unforgiving mental ground as him.

This episode highlights Mizuki’s frightening capacity for in-game growth.

He does not just improve over months or weeks; he can level up dramatically within the span of a single half.

During the National Championship, Mizuki and Ikariya are both featured in television news segments and special reports.

Their rivalry and presence become a focal point for media coverage.

Thanks to this exposure, Mizuki attracts many female fans.

He is frequently asked for handshakes, and crowds even gather outside the team’s hotel to get a glimpse of him.

Despite this sudden popularity, Mizuki remains straightforward and somewhat oblivious.

He does not seem to chase fame; his focus stays on soccer, his team, and his personal growth.

His confirmed move to the professional club Kashima further boosts his status as one of Tokyo’s elite prospects.

Being counted among the “Tokyo Big 3” and the “Top Ten” cements his image as a generational talent.

Mizuki’s main strengths lie in his explosive physical power, incredible finishing, and late-game clutchness.

He is a forward who can decide matches almost single-handedly with a single run or shot.

He combines power-play ability, outstanding stamina, and sharp goal instincts, making him a nightmare for defenders.

His personality as a hard-working late bloomer and his attitude of always wanting to “learn from others” give him a high ceiling for future growth.

On the other hand, his weaknesses include incomplete technical skills, occasional poor ball control, and limited tactical understanding.

These flaws are a direct result of his short soccer career rather than a lack of effort.

Nonetheless, his capacity to improve even during matches suggests that, with time and coaching, he can overcome many of these shortcomings.

For both Seiseki and his future professional club, Mizuki stands out as a powerful, evolving ace whose story is still very much in progress.
