Deathpierce serves as one of the top Holy Knights of Liones, second only to Denzel Liones among The Six Knights of the Azure Sky.

He is calm, thoughtful, and strategic, often working behind the scenes rather than charging in blindly.

He once attempted to restore the trust of the Holy Knights in Meliodas through a staged duel involving Dogedo, showing that he can be calculating and politically aware.

Despite his composure, his experiences drive him toward bitterness and extremism, especially toward non-human races.

He values loyalty and bonds deeply, particularly with Denzel, and his grief over fallen comrades is a major driver of his later radical worldview.

At the same time, his connection with Invisible the fairy hints at a more gentle, lonely side that contrasts with his growing hatred.

Magic: Melody

Deathpierce’s magic is called Melody.

This ability interferes with the "rhythm" inherent in an opponent’s various movements, disrupting and disturbing them.

By manipulating the highs and lows—the cadence—of magical techniques, he can interfere with spells and magic-based actions.

However, Melody does not work on purely physical or close-combat attacks such as punches, kicks, or weapon strikes without a magical component.

This makes Deathpierce particularly dangerous against magic-users or opponents who rely on complex techniques, but less effective against straightforward brawlers.

He uses Melody tactically, combining it with planning and coordination rather than pure brute force.

Deathpierce has a unique friend named Invisible, a fairy that only he can see.

Invisible has been by his side since childhood, acting as his one and only irreplaceable companion.

This relationship underlines Deathpierce’s isolation and emotional vulnerability.

Even as he grows into a hardened Holy Knight and later a vengeful king, Invisible remains a symbol of his softer, more human side.

As a member of The Six Knights of the Azure Sky, Deathpierce fights on the side of the Liones Kingdom during the conflicts involving the Demon Clan and the Goddess Clan.

During these battles, he is caught up in attacks from both the Demon Clan and the Goddess Clan.

He loses comrades such as Denzel Liones and Dogedo, which leaves deep scars on his heart.

Denzel sacrifices himself to summon Nerobasta, a high-ranking goddess, hoping to turn the tide.

Nerobasta, however, attempts to flee and even surrender, showing cowardice at the critical moment.

She is then killed by Derieri of the Demon Clan, rendering Denzel’s sacrifice meaningless and crushing Deathpierce’s trust in the Goddess Clan.

Deathpierce and his allies are also manipulated and controlled by Ludociel of the Goddess Clan.

This manipulation destroys any remaining respect he held for the goddess side, making him view both Demon Clan and Goddess Clan as monstrous beings.

He participates in plotting against Dreyfus, supporting Denzel with his own magic during an attempt to trap Dreyfus.

This operation is disrupted and ultimately fails due to the intervention of Grayroad, a member of the Ten Commandments.

From these events, Deathpierce comes to deeply despise both the Demon Clan that killed his comrades and the Goddess Clan that used and controlled them.

He sees them both as inhuman monsters who toy with mortal lives.

By the end of the main story, Meliodas and Elizabeth Liones become king and queen of the Liones Kingdom.

For Deathpierce, being ruled by the leaders of the Demon Clan and the Goddess Clan respectively is unacceptable.

He believes he no longer has any obligation to serve such a kingdom.

Together with the surviving members of The Six Knights of the Azure Sky, he leaves Liones.

Their new goal becomes the restoration of their homeland, Edinburgh.

Deathpierce dreams of building a nation for humans only, where no other race can betray or use them again.

This marks his transition from a disillusioned Holy Knight into a radical, human supremacist leader.

His ideals, originally born from grief and injustice, twist into a dangerous obsession.

In the story later known as "Ensa of Edinburgh" (Wrath of Edinburgh), Deathpierce appears as an enemy.

He has become the king of Edinburgh, but rules a kingdom with no true citizens.

Under his rule, his subordinates abduct non-human races from across Britannia.

These captives are subjected to forced fusions and experiments, reflecting his hatred and willingness to use others as tools.

His extreme ideology—creating a country only for humans—causes even his former comrades to distance themselves from him.

One by one, those who once followed him come to realize they can no longer support his methods and abandon him.

During this period, Deathpierce wields a staff that appears to be the Staff of Chaos or closely related to it.

This strongly suggests that he has entered into a relationship or alliance with Arthur Pendragon, the king of Chaos.

This connection is reinforced by hints appearing in the sequel series Four Knights of the Apocalypse.

It becomes clearer that Arthur’s manipulations play a large part in Deathpierce’s fall.

In Edinburgh, Deathpierce targets the leaders of the Demon Clan and Goddess Clan through their descendants.

He bears a grudge against Meliodas, the leader of the Demon Clan, and against Elizabeth Liones, as the leader of the Goddess Clan.

To hurt them, Deathpierce curses Elizabeth.

This curse is intended not only to torment her, but also to emotionally wound Meliodas and their son, Tristan Liones.

Tristan Liones and Lancelot (Lancelot of the Lake) go to Edinburgh and confront Deathpierce in his castle.

During the battle, Deathpierce fights them using his magic and staff, but the fight turns against him thanks to the support of The Seven Deadly Sins.

Seeing the tide of battle turning, Deathpierce retreats.

However, Tristan and Lancelot pursue him, leading to a second, more desperate confrontation.

In this rematch, Deathpierce transforms into a monstrous form, embodying the very "monster" he claims to hate.

In this state he puts both Tristan and Lancelot under severe pressure and nearly overwhelms them.

Ultimately, Tristan releases the power of the Demon Clan within him.

Using this unleashed demonic power, Tristan defeats Deathpierce.

Later, it is revealed that much of Deathpierce’s descent and the incident in Edinburgh were influenced and encouraged by Arthur Pendragon.

Arthur’s manipulation pushes Deathpierce further down the path of hatred, making him a pawn in a larger plan involving Chaos.

Deathpierce’s worldview is shaped by betrayal, loss, and manipulation.

He sees the Demon Clan and Goddess Clan as monsters who use humans as expendable pieces in their eternal war.

He resents the Demon Clan for murdering his comrades.

He resents the Goddess Clan for possessing and controlling humans, as Ludociel did, and for Nerobasta’s cowardice and failure to honor Denzel’s sacrifice.

When Meliodas and Elizabeth Liones—leaders of the Demon Clan and Goddess Clan respectively—take the throne of Liones, Deathpierce cannot accept this as justice.

To him, this means that Brtannia is now ruled by the very beings who destroyed his life.

His ideology of a humans-only nation stems from a desire to protect his race from ever being exploited again.

However, his methods—kidnapping, experimentation, and persecution of other races—turn him into the very sort of tyrant he claims to oppose.

This ideological spiral makes Deathpierce one of the more morally complex antagonists in the series.

He is neither purely evil nor simply misguided, but a tragic figure consumed by grief and manipulated by greater powers like Arthur Pendragon.
