Fred

He is a monk and currently serves as the director of the Magic Bureau. From the time he traveled with the heroes, Fred played the role of strategist, possessing a sharp mind and calm judgment. While he is a gentle and considerate young man, he also has a passionate side—when excited, his tone becomes harsh, and he reveals a rough, combative nature equal to that of Max or Leo. In his present role as a politician, he is adept at political maneuvering as well. Fred cares deeply for his companions but struggles to be honest with them, and this awkwardness burdens him. He strives to help his friends, who have trouble living wisely, but repeated misunderstandings lead to conflicts, culminating in a duel with Leo.

Fred appears to be highly sensitive to spiritual matters, so much so that he is aware of the ghost living in Max’s room. However, he has a low tolerance for such things; when he sees a ghost, his health deteriorates. After the incident with Leo and the explosion at the Magic Bureau, he was held accountable by the ministers, but thanks to Grimus’s arrest, he was absolved of blame and ended up taking a vacant minister’s seat. During the battle in the Demon Realm, he served as both a vital healer and a magic attacker, supporting the fight until the very end.
