Okan

Okan, who appears in the form of a cow-human hybrid, has curly hair on the top of her head and wears an apron with "Okan" written on it. Her family home is located close to the Arakawa household, and they mainly raise dairy cows, along with a small number of chickens, as livestock farmers. Their property is just a short distance downstream along the river.

She is the biological mother of Hiromu Arakawa and serves as the executive director of the Arakawa Farm. When Hiromu tries to avoid helping during the busy farming season, Okan counters by saying that she herself faced the busy season while pregnant with Hiromu and "rode the tractor until the labor pains started," effectively silencing Hiromu’s objections. Later, Okan revealed that "after labor pains began, I drove myself to the hospital and gave birth right away," indicating that the delivery was easy.

While managing household chores and child-rearing, Okan also takes care of farm work, livestock duties, the accounting and sales for Arakawa Farm, caregiving for her father, and even pursues her hobby of gardening. She is often admired for her versatility, but Okan insists, "It’s not that I can do everything, it's that I’m made to do everything!"

Since quitting dairy farming, her skin condition has improved, she has more free time, and she has started experimenting with growing various kinds of vegetables.
