Masato Hattori

A jockey based at Miho, his nickname is "Hanzo." He is always at the forefront as a leading jockey, and in the battles involving Cascade, he is the primary jockey, earning immense trust. One particularly memorable scene is when, during the World Cup's fifth race where Midori Makibao faces off against Jerusalem, he uses the whip that was once entrusted to Kansuke Yamamoto for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe as his weapon once again. After retiring as a jockey, he takes on a new challenge as a trainer, bringing fresh energy to his horses. Notably, among the cast of characters, he stands out as one of the few who does not have distinct tarako-shaped lips, making him unique and memorable.

He is a character in the manga "Midori no Makibao." A veteran jockey who has achieved the status of a leading jockey, he serves as Cascade's main jockey, guiding him to victory with a masterful blend of composure and passion. His nickname is Hanzo (due to his surname, Hattori). He also appears in the sequel, "Taiyou no Makibao." After retiring from being a jockey, he becomes a trainer in charge of Femme Fatale.
