Mintaka is a minor antagonist turned main character in Relayer. She is the Starchild of Mintaka, one of the three stars of Orion's Belt. She is the captain of a group of Space Pirates known as the Star Council with her friends Anilam and Anitak being her wingmen. In actuality, the Star Council work for ATLAS Corp with Mintaka being one of Chairman ATLAS's many illegitimate children with Mintaka being his most favorite candidate to succeed him. Initially at odds with the Asterism, a chance encounter with Uranus, who saved Mintaka's life a long time ago, changes the Space Pirate's life as she seeks to repay her debt to the Dark Doctor
