Riz Hawkwood

Riz possesses well-balanced abilities in almost every area except defense. She wields a unique magic that lets her manipulate shadows. This power allows her to move freely from shadow to shadow, making her highly mobile and exceptionally versatile in combat.

Her lower defense is cleverly offset by her ability to hide within shadows, allowing her to evade attacks.

Riz fights using four short daggers that she carries suspended in front and behind her. Although her primary use of these weapons is as throwing knives, she combines them with her magic to attack distant foes via the shadows.

Using her unique shadow magic, Riz can reshape her daggers into a variety of forms—including spears, whips, and scythes—depending on what the battle demands. She can even turn them into chains to restrain her enemies.

Driven by a personal wish, Riz made a contract with Kyubey before Tart. As a magical girl, she traveled with Kyubey, fighting witches along the way.

Despite her often expressionless face and stoic demeanor, Riz has a soft spot for cute things.

During the fierce battle with Lapin, who possesses the ability to endlessly alternate between witch and magical girl forms upon defeat, Riz bravely accompanies Lapin into the world of shadows in order to end her threat.

Later, at the height of Tart’s final showdown against Isabeau de Bavière, Riz reappears in the form of her soul gem. She transforms into a gauntlet for Tart, fighting alongside her to bring down Isabeau.

After the battle, Riz's remaining soul gem fades away and vanishes, marking the end of her journey.
