Yurie is a kind and wise older domestic, she has watched over Kudō Kiyoka since he was a child.
Shewarmly welcomes Miyo to the Kudō family and becomes her supporter. Yurie quickly understands that Miyo comes from a hard background and quietly helps the new bride feel more at home. She protects and comforts Miyo, especially when others try to make her feel unworthy, showing both kindness and strength.
Yurie is an elderly woman, often described as a gentle and soft-spoken lady. She wears typical servant clothing, fit for her role in the Kudō household.
Yurie is warm, friendly and easy to talk to.
She cares deeply for those around her, especially Kiyoka and Miyo.
Even though she speaks softly, she can be firm when needed.
She knows how to stand up for Miyo when others are acerbe.
She often gives good advice.
According to the author, Yurie is just ordinary house servant and not from a family that has served the Kudōs for generations.
She began working for the family when Kiyoka was still very young and became a big part of the everyday life of this one.
Kiyoka says that Yurie practically raised him, showing how close they are.

A Kind Welcome for Miyo
When Miyo arrives alone, with only a few things and no servant of her own, Yurie warmly welcomes her into the Kudō household.
Yurie immediately notices that something about Miyo’s arrival is very unusual. In those days, it was rare for a bride from a good family to travel alone. Yurie quietly wonders about Miyo’s past and tells Kiyoka that asking directly Miyo would probably be hard.
Defending Miyo from Kaya
One day, Kaya meets Miyo in town and tells her she’s not good enough for Kiyoka.
Yurie arrives just in time and stands by Miyo, placing a calm hand on Miyo’s back to comfort her.
When Kaya tries to talk down to both of them, Yurie gently but clearly explains that she is not Miyo’s colleague but her servant and that Miyo is to be the mistress of the house.
Yurie’s strong but kind words make Kaya hesitate and protect Miyo’s feelings.
After Miyo’s Kidnapping
Later, some people from both the Saimori and Tatsuishi families kidnap Miyo.
Yurie blames herself because she forgot to make sure Miyo carried a protective charm that could keep her safe when Miyo is finally rescued and wakes up, Yurie is so relieved that she starts to cry.
Daily Life in the Kudō House
Yurie takes care of household stains in Kiyoka’s home far from the capital and of Kiyoka and Miyo.
She often notices small things about Miyo, like how her hands are rough from hard work and tries to help whenever she can.
Yurie notices the growing feelings between Kiyoka and Miyo, supports them quietly but speaks up if she feels Miyo is holding back too much.
