Marie was Kazuhiro Kitase's adventurer companion in another world. During an attack by Wridra, she was protected by Kazuhiro, becoming caught in his teleportation magic and thus arriving in Japan.

Initially, she couldn't speak Japanese, relying on Kazuhiro to translate Elf language. However, she quickly mastered Japanese by diligently studying and referencing anime, which she absolutely adores.

Upon arriving in Japan, Marie was incredibly curious and thrilled by the unknown modern world. She developed a particular fondness for Japanese anime, finding it to be a fun and engaging way to learn the language.

To hide her distinctive elf ears in Japan, she initially wore a hat constantly. Later, Wridra provided her with a magical accessory that concealed her ears more effectively.

However, a playful spirit in Japan later removed the accessory, revealing her ears to Kazuhiro's grandfather and thus exposing her identity as an Elf.

In the other world, Marie knew Kazuhiro Kitase by his adventurer name, Kazuhiro, and continued to call him that in Japan. During a trip to Aomori where they stayed at his grandfather's house, she learned his true name, Kazuhiro, when he was addressed correctly.

While she initially viewed Kazuhiro merely as an adventure companion, living together in Japan deepened their bond. She gradually began to see him as an individual man, Kazuhiro, rather than just "Kazuhiro," and changed her way of addressing him to "Kazuhiro-san."

The web version of the story reveals a tumultuous first encounter between Marie and Kazuhiro Kitase ten years prior. She mistook him for a goblin while she was bathing and, being generally averse to humans, she tragically killed him with magic.

However, their paths crossed again when Kazuhiro saved her from a monstrous entity known as "The Revenger." This act of heroism caused Marie to develop deep affection for him.

Marie comes from a unique family background; her father is the chief of an Elf tribe, and her mother is a Dark Elf.

Marie loves delicious food, having often savored the Japanese bentos that Kazuhiro brought from his world. She finds herself completely enchanted by the diverse and delightful culinary experiences Japan offers.

She has voice actor connections with Yuna Amagami, who also loves cats, and Sara (Water Mage), who is another elf-type heroine.

Her character name is coincidentally similar to Mariabel from "A Slightly Overbearing Dark Elf Chasing from Another World," with another voice actor connection related to contractors with a god of things in a girls' anime.
