Nanase

An elderly woman who serves as the secretary of the Matoba clan, exorcists who expel spirits. She wears glasses and is characterized by her narrow eyes. Although she appears gentle and kind at first glance, in reality, she possesses a sharp gaze. According to Shuuichi Natori's assessment, her spiritual abilities are inferior to those of Takashi Natsume. During her first appearance, she deceived Takashi and his friends to obtain a shikigami. She treats yokai as "dangerous beings" and is strict with the yokai she commands, showing a cold-hearted side towards them. She does not get along very well with Shuuichi Natori, but they often meet at gatherings. She seems to have only heard rumors about Reiko Natsume.

In the anime series, she makes a brief appearance in the final episode of the first season, and later plays a more significant role starting from episode 11 of the second season, becoming involved with Seiji Matoba, Takashi Natsume, and the others.
