Okowa is an anime-original character who appears in episode 19 of the 2019 Dororo series. She is the daughter of a proud swordsmith and becomes infatuated with Hyakkimaru after misreading his odd behavior. Through a string of comic misunderstandings, she nearly marries Hyakkimaru while under the power of a tricky demon, but things turn out differently in the end. Her involvement creates a mix-up that deepens the bond between Dororo and Hyakkimaru, while helping the heroes defeat the demon.

Okowa lives in a rural village and is the daughter of Munetsuna, a skilled swordsmith.
She grew up respecting her father’s work and has a good reputation among the villagers because of her appearance and personality.
Okowa Meets Hyakkimaru
Okowa first meets Hyakkimaru and Dororo when they visit her village to ask Munetsuna to repair a sword.
When Hyakkimaru rubs his forehead against hers, Okowa mistakes this strange habit for a sign that he loves her.
The Demon’s Trick
A demon known as Amanojaku appears in the village and casts a spell on Hyakkimaru.
The spell makes Hyakkimaru say the opposite of what he really means.
Because of this, Okowa hears Hyakkimaru say, “I want to be with Okowa,” and truly believes he wants to marry her.
Without knowing it’s a spell, Okowa quickly prepares for their wedding.
Wedding Mix-Up
The day of the wedding arrives, and Okowa is excited to marry Hyakkimaru.
But with help from Dororo and Munetsuna, Amanojaku is defeated, and the spell on Hyakkimaru is broken.
