Ukigumo is secretly the warden assigned to Momoyuki Mogura, who has been exiled from the afterlife and sentenced to "live" as punishment.

Her mission is to ensure he remains alive and that his sentence is not interrupted.

Ukigumo is overwhelmingly powerful in battle, capable of subduing seven vengeful spirits single-handedly.

She skillfully controls her eight hair bundles as if they were spider legs, using them in combat.

Her authority as Momoyuki Mogura’s warden allows her to directly transport those who interfere with his sentence straight to hell, bypassing any afterlife trial.

She is also an incredibly skilled gamer—her player name "Orange Spider" ranks top 3 in the "Boogie Crush" game.

Ukigumo maintains a unique relationship with Momoyuki Mogura, treating him as the "prisoner," with herself as the "warden."

She is compassionate when his life is endangered, recovering his body and restoring his possessions before reviving him.

Ukigumo is voiced by Umeka Shouji, who also voiced Iwahime in the creator’s previous work.

Ukigumo is first introduced silently in the fourth chapter of the original work, fully speaking by chapter nine.

Interaction with Momoyuki Mogura

Momoyuki Mogura, banned from the afterlife, must remain alive to serve his sentence.

Ukigumo’s duty is to ensure this state is upheld, quietly observing unless his existence is at risk.

If his spiritual or physical form is threatened or trapped, Ukigumo intervenes with overwhelming force, even sending offenders straight to hell.

She considers warden and prisoner relationships misunderstood, seeing herself as someone who protects Momoyuki Mogura from being toyed with by society.

Despite her duties, Ukigumo never restricts Momoyuki Mogura's movement or activities, only stepping in if his "living" punishment is endangered.

Ukigumo manages the bathhouse under the name "Floating Cloud," governing every area except the section Momoyuki Mogura has self-built and occupies.
