Saki Kawasaki

A second-year female student in Class F at Sobu High School, Saki Kawasaki is known for her unsociable nature and sharp tongue, although she deeply cares for her family. She is often seen alone in the classroom, but she also has age-appropriate sides—such as being visibly scared during a haunted house experience on the school trip. Her hobby is sewing, and she wears clothes and remade items she makes herself, participating in costume productions for the cultural and sports festivals. Through these activities, she built a close relationship with Hina Ebina, although her relationship with Yumiko Miura has not been smooth.

After advancing to the next grade, Saki began working part-time jobs to support her family, frequently working until morning and regularly arriving late to school. However, thanks to the volunteer club members and advice from Hachiman Hikigaya, who accepted her younger brother Taishi Kawasaki's request, she was able to obtain a scholarship from a prep school, and her situation gradually improved. Afterward, Saki started to become more conscious of Hachiman, occasionally initiating conversations with him, though she refers to him only as "you" instead of using his name—a distinctive trait of hers. Although Hachiman has a favorable impression of her, those around her are somewhat intimidated by her occasional forceful words like "I'll hit you" or "I'll kill you," which she sometimes seems to mean seriously. Saki also has a younger sister and a younger brother, and she is known to have a strong attachment to her brother ("brocon" tendencies). In volume 9, it is also hinted that she shows some "siscon" feelings as well.
