Tsurauchi is a towering figure, reaching nearly seven shaku, or about 2.1 meters in height.

His huge stature often draws attention and earns him the nickname "Oni Child" from those around him.

Tsurauchi’s exterior is intimidating, but his inward pain runs deep due to years of village ostracism.

He is fiercely loyal to those who show him kindness, like his master Yasuhide Hatakeyama and his childhood friend.

Hailing from the remote mountain village of Kazuno, Tsurauchi was once a human.

He became an apprentice to Kanetomi, the famed creator of the cursed blade "Night Defender Kanetomi" and the sword "Yorai."

Because of his monstrous build, the village shunned him, treating him like an outcast—with the exception of a single close childhood friend.

His only friend—a young girl—suffered her own share of persecution simply for interacting with him.

Tsurauchi’s life spiraled into tragedy when villagers discovered that Kanetomi’s wife, Yato, was a demon.

Plans were hatched not only to kill Yato, but also to dispose of Tsurauchi, whom they found troublesome.

The villagers threatened the girl’s parents, compelling her to betray Tsurauchi by leading him into their trap.

Devastated by her apparent betrayal, Tsurauchi lost himself to despair and transformed into a demon, massacring everyone present, including his beloved friend.

Later, he learned from the girl’s parents that she had only betrayed him under duress, and that she genuinely cared for him.

Overcome by grief for what he had done, he fled his ruined home and was eventually taken in by Yasuhide Hatakeyama.

Tsurauchi’s primary ability, "Unyielding," allows him to instantly harden his body, making him nearly impervious to harm.

After his defeat in battle against Jinta, Tsurauchi transferred this power to him via "Assimilation," passing on his strength.

His strongest sense of loyalty is reserved for Yasuhide Hatakeyama, who gave him a purpose after his fall.

Tsurauchi's relationship with his childhood friend remains a source of both pain and regret.

Tsurauchi stands almost 2.1 meters tall—his build is intimidating even among demons.

He was once the apprentice of Kanetomi, the legendary swordsmith who forged infamous cursed blades.

Born in Kazuno, a secluded village known only by a handful, Tsurauchi lived much of his early life in isolation.

Apart from Kanetomi, he was reviled by his fellow villagers, leaving him with only a single friend—a girl whose compassion was matched by her own suffering.

The Betrayal and Transformation

When the villagers realized that Kanetomi’s wife was a demon, fear and hatred led them to target both Yato and Tsurauchi.

The only way to pursue their plan was to threaten his childhood friend's parents, forcing her to betray him.

Broken-hearted by this betrayal, Tsurauchi’s despair turned him into a demon.

He exterminated everyone who had threatened him, including his beloved childhood friend.

Discovery and Regret

Returning to the village after his rampage, he learned from the grieving parents why she had done what she did.

Her betrayal had never truly been her choice—she loved him.

Wracked with guilt, Tsurauchi abandoned his home, becoming a wanderer.

Becoming a Follower of Yasuhide Hatakeyama

Tsurauchi was found by Yasuhide Hatakeyama, who saw potential in his sorrow and power, recruiting him as a subordinate.

As a loyal retainer and assassin, he fought under Yasuhide’s command until his final battle.

Defeat and Legacy

In his confrontation with Jinta, Tsurauchi was defeated.

He passed his unyielding power to Jinta, entrusting him with Yasuhide’s true wish.

Tsurauchi’s life is a cycle of rejection, violence, and painful self-discovery.

He remains one of the most tragic and memorable figures among the demons.
