Pakkoyan is a female resident of the Village of Ilblu, distinctly characterized by her large single eye. She was once a member of the Ganja Corps, and is the only villager besides the Three Sages depicted both as a human and as a Narehate. During her time with the Ganja Corps, she often acted alongside Vueloeluko, indicating a close relationship.
She is voiced by Akane Misaka. Pakkoyan resides in Ilblu, the Village of Narehate, which is located in the Sixth Layer of the Abyss.
As a Narehate, she is distinguished by her body covered in fur, a tail, and a prominent single eye. Although she cannot understand the conversations of Riko and her companions as an Ilblu resident, she was originally a crew member of the Ganja Corps and served as Vueloeluko's aide.
As a Narehate
As a Human
Pakkoyan was a female crew member of the Ganja Expeditionary Force. She acted as Vueloeluko's assistant, helping manage the members' health, and often called out to her. Having been expelled from her homeland as a Ganja crew member, she expressed great emotion upon finally reaching the Sixth Layer of the Abyss.
She shared an intimately close relationship with Vueloeluko, even having been depicted wrapped naked in a blanket with her. Pakkoyan deeply cherished Vueloeluko, and this affection endured even after Pakkoyan became a Narehate.
After her transformation into a Narehate, she wielded a gun-like relic as a weapon. She was a skilled and veteran participant in the village hunts, making several appearances as a background character.
Though they did not speak directly after Vueloeluko emerged from the "Eye's Depths," Pakkoyan continued to show concern for her. During the collapse of Ilblu, Pakkoyan assisted Riko and her group. When Vueloeluko was exposed to the forcefield leaking from the village's membrane and developed the Curse of the Abyss, Pakkoyan threw Vueloeluko to a safe location. In doing so, Pakkoyan herself was pushed outside the village membrane and subsequently disappeared.
Her identity as a member of the Ganja Corps was revealed on the cover of Volume 9 of the manga, but it was difficult to discern due to her being a background character. This fact was explicitly confirmed in the anime adaptation.
Her charming appearance led to a surge of people developing a preference for single-eyed girls, altering their personal tastes.
