Rentt Faina

The protagonist of this work aims to become a Mithril-class adventurer and is a lower-ranked Copper-class adventurer active in the rural town of Malt, originally from Hatohara Village.

Although lacking in ability, he is knowledgeable about the people around him. Despite his low self-esteem, he is highly valued by the guild for training newcomers and handling requests that no one else would take, and there were talks of inviting him to become a guild staff member if he retired from adventuring. However, he lacks tact and has occasionally made remarks that almost led to attacks from Lorraine.

He is a rare individual who can use three types of energy: magical power, vital energy, and holy energy, but each is not very effective, making them a wasted treasure.

He was eaten by a dragon in a hidden passage discovered in the Water Moon Labyrinth and awakened as an immortal monster. By defeating other monsters and evolving, his physical abilities and the amounts of magical power, vital energy, and holy energy increase, making him stronger than when he was human. However, becoming a monster does not make other monsters see him as an ally; they attack him as usual.

He asked Rina to buy him a robe and a mask, which he wore to hide his transformation into a monster when he returned to Malt. However, the mask was cursed, and he could not remove it by himself.

For some reason, the mask evolved in sync with Rentt's own evolution, and later it became possible to erase part of it (although he still could not remove it completely).

When he registered with the guild under two names, he used the name Rentt Vivie at Lorraine's suggestion, taking her family name Vivie to avoid feeling out of place as he was staying at Lorraine's house.

As a child, he was the only survivor when a wolf monster killed his childhood friend and parents, and he was saved by a Mithril-class adventurer. Since then, his motivation to become a Mithril-class adventurer has been driven by a desire for revenge against the wolf monsters.
