Filimøs “Oka” Harrifenas, formerly known as Okazaki Kanami (岡崎香奈美), is the former homeroom teacher of the class that was reincarnated from Japan. Reborn as the daughter of Potimas Harrifenas, the ruler of elves, she roams the world in search of her students, using a unique skill that provides her with information about reincarnations.
Okazaki Kanami was characterized by her petite figure and twin ponytails. In the anime, she is often seen wearing a white frilly jacket, a maroon-colored skirt that falls below the knee, and half-frame glasses.
As a young elf, Filimøs has a slim, childlike appearance. She has blonde hair styled into twin tails and blue eyes, giving her the classic look of an elf. When someone comments on her small stature, Filimøs explains that she hasn’t entered puberty yet and believes she will have a growth spurt—unaware that elves naturally have small and slender bodies.
Even before her reincarnation, Okazaki-sensei (Filimøs) was known for her peculiar way of speaking, which she continues to use after being reborn. Becoming a teacher was her childhood dream, and to achieve that, she immersed herself in things popular among students—such as video games and manga—crafting a likeable persona based on them.
Filimøs deeply cares for her students, and even after reincarnation, she works tirelessly to keep them safe. This is evident in how she greatly lamented their precarious situation. She was especially distressed upon witnessing their potential deaths through her bonus skill, [Student Roster].
As revealed in her inner thoughts, Oka has admitted that she is not a particularly strong person and was unable to completely let go of her previous life to start anew. She clung to her former identity as a teacher and prioritized the safety of her students above all else.
Furthermore, due to the distressing effects of her unique skill, which allows her to foresee the potential deaths of her students, she took full responsibility for their well-being. Unconsciously, for these very reasons, she came to believe that only she knew what was best for them, regardless of their choices and free will. This mindset is evident in her decision to have the elves gather the reincarnated students and forcibly confine them in the Elf Village while they were still too young to resist. She justified her actions by convincing herself that she was in the right—that protecting them in confinement was better than leaving them to fend for themselves in the dangers of the new world.
Later, as seen in the cases of Sophia and Wrath, Oka demonstrated that she was either unable or unwilling to even attempt to understand their reasons for refusing her offer of “protection.” However, it should be noted that the elves influenced her, making it even more difficult for her to comprehend their rejection.
Her tendency to act based solely on what she believes is right—without fully understanding the situation—is also evident in the method she used to “help” Hugo regain his “humanity.” She assumed that stripping him of his skills and stats would have a positive effect on his mind, despite knowing his personality both before and after reincarnation. However, she was later baffled and surprised when her actions only worsened his issues.
Having been raised by the elves, Oka developed a degree of ingrained antagonism toward the Administrators due to their indoctrination since her reincarnation. However, because she already had a fully developed mind and harbored doubts about the elves, her own hostility was much weaker, and she questioned the truthfulness of their beliefs.
Nevertheless, her inability—or refusal—to understand Wrath and Sophia’s reasons for assisting the Administrators led her to view them with hostility. This was likely driven by an unconscious desire to validate her actions as just and to reaffirm that she was in the right while working with the elves.
After the battle at the Elf Village, during the conference between the reincarnates, Oka learned the truth about Potimas and the elves from Wakaba. Overwhelmed by the realization that all her efforts had been in vain, she broke down in tears and began hyperventilating.
