Character Setting

Edit

Felicia Mitsuki is a 13-year-old first-year student at Chuo Academy’s secondary division in Kamihama City. A magical girl mercenary, she’s infamous for her brash and unruly behavior—traits heavily influenced by her love of shonen manga. Although extremely talented in battle, her lack of self-restraint and a reputation for trouble make her an unpopular hire. Driven by the (false) belief that witches killed her parents, she devotes herself to fighting them, handling her massive hammer with unmatched power. Despite her tough talk and rough demeanor, Felicia’s kind-hearted and loves animals. After meeting Iroha Tamaki and the others, she finds a home at Mikazuki Villa and begins to grow as both a fighter and friend.

Felicia is 151cm tall. She has striking blond hair worn in pigtails, and striking purple eyes. In her magical girl form, she sports a distinctive hood reminiscent of animal ears and goggles, giving her a wild yet adorable look. Her signature weapon is a hammer almost as big as she is, which she swings energetically.

Felicia’s personality can be summed up as rowdy, energetic, and reckless. She uses the masculine “ore” self-pronoun and peppers her speech with tough words, but is ultimately soft-hearted. She’s independent, cheeky, and lazy about chores, but when it comes to hunting witches, she becomes highly committed—often to the point of losing sight of her surroundings. She has a sweet-toothed, spoiled side and enjoys being pampered.

Felicia was born and raised in Minaminagi Ward, Kamihama City. Her father was from an English-speaking country (suggested as England). In childhood, her family argued frequently due to differences in parenting styles. During one heated argument with her mother, Felicia accidentally caused a fire that led to the death of both parents. Overwhelmed with grief and guilt, she wished to Kyubey to “make it so this never happened.” As a result, reality was altered—her family home was restored, but her parents vanished, and the incident was rewritten in local memory as “missing persons.” Felicia’s own memories became twisted, making her believe that witches killed her parents, fueling her obsession with fighting them.

Felicia’s innate magic is “Oblivion”—allowing her to erase the memories of anyone she attacks. In combat, she wields a colossal hammer with incredible strength, able to warp furniture even before transforming. Her stats are attack-focused, fitting her role as an offensive powerhouse.

  • Attribute: Dark
  • Type: Attack
  • Magic: Oblivion (Memory Erasure)
  • Connect: “Leave it to me with a bang!” (Boosts ally damage, negates counters)
  • Magia: “Ultra Great Big Hammer” (High damage to a single enemy, defense down, binds)
  • Doppel: “Doppel of Churning” (Massive single-target damage, defense down, always binds)

  • Iroha Tamaki: The person who helps Felicia realize what truly matters. Felicia comes to see Iroha as “her side.”
  • Yachiyo Nanami: Acts as Felicia’s senior and supervisor, though Felicia complains, she ultimately relies on her.
  • Tsuruno Yui: Felicia’s frequent companion and spiritual peer.
  • Kyoko Sakura: Their dynamic is reminiscent of punk senior and junior.
  • Sana Futaba: Shared grief over family loss forms a bond between them.
  • Ui Tamaki: Felicia initially envies her relationship with Yachiyo, but they reconcile and become like sisters.
  • Kako Natsume: Remains in contact, with Kako often supporting Felicia during trouble.
  • Sasara Asuka: Once forcibly involved by Felicia, now maintains an odd-couple friendship.
  • Ayame Mikuri: Rivals and best friends.

  • Felicia’s name means “good fortune” and “divine blessing.”
  • She struggles with English, a fact highlighted during an April Fools event.
  • Her exclusive “Memoria” is “Memories of the Ranch,” reflecting treasured family memories.
  • Felicia’s distinct personality and memorable hammer-wielding style make her a standout magical girl.

  • "I'll take care of all the witches myself...!"
  • "I've always been on Iroha's side, you idiot!"
  • "Please! Please let me do the Decagon Stamp Rally!!"
  • "It wasn't me... Why would I kill my own mom and dad...?"
  • "C’mon, I’ll shut you up with this!"

Mercenary in Kamihama

Felicia lives as a “mercenary magical girl,” hunting witches for payment throughout Kamihama City. Although she charges a fee, she never asks for more than necessary and has never actually caused a dispute over money. Sometimes, she’s willing to switch sides if the enemy offers a higher reward.

Tragedy and Contract

Her childhood is marked by a terrible loss—her parents died in a fire caused during an argument with her mother. Overwhelmed with guilt and sorrow, Felicia contracts with Kyubey so the incident “never happened.” Her wish rewrites reality, restoring her home but not her parents, and erasing the true memory from everyone but herself, Kako Natsume, and (in certain versions) Iroha and Yachiyo. Instead, Felicia falsely believes witches were to blame for her parents’ deaths.

Path to Acceptance

After a period of self-destructive behavior, Felicia is pulled back from the brink by friends at Mikazuki Villa. Supported by companions, and even receiving words of encouragement from her parents’ spirits, Felicia resolves to accept her past, live happily, and use her strength to help others.

Growth and Bonds

Felicia’s journey leads her to find not only allies but a chosen family. She gradually opens up, learns the value of trust, and plays critical roles in combating various rumors and crises with her friends.

Felicia is featured in the main story and events of Magia Record, as well as in the anime adaptation “Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story.” Her energetic theme song humorously narrates her daily life: fighting witches, relaxing on weekends, and making sure she’s home in time for her favorite TV shows.
