Age: Around 880 years old (before sealing)

Height: 2580 cm

Weight: 2950 kg

Blood Type: A

Birthday: April 6

Place of Birth: Megadoza

Affiliation: Ten Commandments (former), Giant Clan, later ally of The Seven Deadly Sins

Commandment: Patience

Voice Actor (Japanese): Daisuke Ono

Drole is an enormous giant with four arms and dark green, stone‑like skin.

He usually hides his face under a cloth bag, but underneath he has a handsome visage with notably long, well‑defined eyelashes.

He is calm, composed, and speaks in polite language, often acting as the voice of reason among the Ten Commandments.

For example, he restrains Galland when the latter flies into a rage after being defeated by a fully powered Meliodas.

Giants worship him as a god and the first of their kind, but this image does not match reality.

Born with an unusually massive and monstrous body even by giant standards, he was treated as a freak and never truly had anyone he considered a kindred spirit.

Humans fear him as an overwhelming monster and call him “Balor,” a name Drole deeply despises.

Despite his terrifying appearance and power, he is courteous, serious, and rather inflexible, struggling to think beyond rigid choices like “fight or die.”

Drole is known under several lofty titles among the giant clan.

They revere him as the “God of the Earth,” the “Progenitor of Giants,” and the “One‑Eyed God,” and believe he was the original founder of their race and once their king 3000 years ago.

Humanity knows him by the name “Balor,” associating him with a mythical all‑seeing eye.

This human name becomes the basis for the magical artifact “Balor’s Magical Eye,” used later by Merlin and others.

In reality, Drole is not the true progenitor of the giant race.

Other giants, terrified by his gigantic body and overwhelming magic, elevated him into a god‑like figure and worshiped him from a distance rather than embracing him as a peer.

Early Life and Isolation

From birth, Drole’s unusual form and immense size made him an object of fear and discrimination, even among giants.

Although they eventually venerated him as a deity, this reverence was based on fear, leaving him without genuine companions and steeped in loneliness.

He rose to power as the de facto king of the giants around 3000 years before the main story.

In this role, he embodied the ideals of strength, endurance, and immovability that the giant clan valued above all else.

Role in the Ancient Holy War

During the ancient Holy War, Drole fought on the side of the Stigma alliance led by the Goddess Clan.

He stood shoulder to shoulder with Meliodas as a warrior aiming to overthrow the Demon King.

At that time, the giant clan saw him as their supreme ruler and battle god.

Drole himself was constantly striving to become stronger, always seeking to surpass his limits as a warrior.

However, in the latter stages of the war, he faced Zeldris and was utterly defeated.

After this loss, Zeldris forced him into a brutal choice: join the Demon Clan or die.

Drole chose to live and accepted Zeldris’s offer, defecting from the Stigma side and becoming a member of the Demon King’s elite Ten Commandments.

His long‑standing sense of alienation among the giants and the idea of joining other “outsiders” within the Demon Clan helped push him toward this decision.

Joining the Ten Commandments

As a member of the Ten Commandments, Drole was granted the Commandment of Patience by the Demon King.

He became one of the Demon King’s direct subordinates, feared across the world for his colossal power.

Despite his allegiance, he retained a measured, courteous demeanor.

He often appeared more thoughtful and restrained than some of his more impulsive comrades, such as Galland.

Yet deep down, Drole carried doubts and unresolved feelings about betraying the giants and abandoning his former ideals.

These inner conflicts would later resurface after he crossed paths with Meliodas again in the current timeline.

Revival in the Present Age

In the current era, Fraudrin breaks the seal that had bound the Ten Commandments for 3000 years.

Drole is revived alongside the other nine members of the group.

Together with Gloxinia, he appears at the construction site of Vaizel.

There, the two decide to host a “Great Vaizel Fighting Festival” to attract and gather powerful warriors’ souls.

During this festival, Drole uses his earth magic to create a colossal labyrinth and battlefield.

The event ultimately draws in The Seven Deadly Sins and sets the stage for a major confrontation.

Overall Combat Power

Drole possesses an immense combat level of 54,000.

This is broken down as magic power 14,000, physical strength 36,500, and spirit 3,500.

His raw strength, combined with his giant body and advanced earth magic, makes him one of the most formidable fighters of his era.

His abilities far surpass those of ordinary giants, including elite warriors like Diane or Matrona.

Magic: Ground

Drole’s innate magic is called Ground, a powerful earth‑manipulation ability.

It is similar to the giants’ standard magic “Creation,” but on a far larger scale that affects vast areas of terrain.

He can reshape the landscape in an instant, such as creating an enormous labyrinth around Vaizel overnight.

He can also create earth golems as his copies, whose combat abilities are strong enough to trouble both Diane and King simultaneously.

In addition, Drole has a unique trait tied to the earth: by performing a special giant clan dance, he can continuously increase his combat power over time.

This technique lets him draw in and accumulate immense earth energy across the battlefield.

Giant God Gauntlet

Drole can raise the earth and shape it into massive stone hands.

These giant hands respond to his will and move freely like extensions of his own body.

During the Great Vaizel Fighting Festival, the fingertips of these giant hands serve as arenas where combatants battle.

He can also reorient or close the hands to attack or restrain opponents.

Divination Technique

By lifting a portion of the ground and letting it float, Drole performs a form of divination.

He uses this during the Vaizel festival to randomly assign participants into teams and matchups.

True to its name, even Drole does not control or know the specific outcome of the team assignments.

The technique functions like a magical lottery that determines the tournament’s structure.

Giant God Embrace

Using the giant hands created by Giant God Gauntlet, Drole can move them to wrap around and capture targets.

During the Vaizel event, he uses this attack to seize all participants except Meliodas.

He then attempts to use them as hostages to pressure Meliodas.

This shows that Drole is capable not only of massive area control but also of precise targeted restraint.

Shatter Break (Giga Crash)

Drole creates gigantic rocks from the earth and launches them skyward.

These projectiles rain down toward airborne opponents, functioning as a powerful anti‑air strike.

The technique can cover a wide area, making it difficult for enemies to evade purely by flight.

Combined with subsequent techniques, it turns the sky into a lethal kill zone.

Falling Mountain (Giga Fall)

Falling Mountain is a follow‑up to Shatter Break.

After hurling the giant rocks upward, Drole sends them crashing down all at once onto his targets.

The sheer mass and number of boulders create devastating area‑of‑effect damage.

It is highly effective against clustered enemies or anyone trapped within his battlefield.

Heavy Metal

Heavy Metal is an enhanced version of the giants’ typical defensive spell often nicknamed “Heavy Metal.”

When activated, Drole hardens his body to a level comparable to diamond.

In this state, even hellfire‑type flames such as “Purgatory Fire” cannot harm him.

This makes Drole incredibly difficult to injure, especially in close combat or when enduring magical barrages.

Earth Pick (Giga Pick)

Drole can cause enormous stone pillars or crystals to erupt from the ground beneath an enemy.

In some instances, these pillars take on a distinctive purple crystalline appearance.

The sudden upward thrust can impale or smash foes from below.

It is particularly dangerous because it attacks from an unexpected vertical angle with great speed and force.

Binding Lock (Giga Rock)

By manipulating the ground, Drole traps an opponent’s lower body in rock.

This immobilizes the target’s legs and prevents them from moving or escaping.

Binding Lock is useful for setting up further attacks or allowing allies to strike safely.

It also synergizes with his large‑scale assaults, making enemies easier to hit.

Earth Armor (Gaia Form)

Drole has a technique known as Earth Armor.

Although it failed to fully activate in the story and its full capabilities are not shown, the name implies that he can form armor infused with earth magic.

Such armor would likely offer powerful defense and possibly augment his physical might.

Given his other abilities, it may also allow him to integrate with the ground more seamlessly during combat.

Earth Golem

Drole can create humanoid golems from the earth and control them freely.

These golems can fight on his behalf, acting as durable and powerful proxies.

Their strength is high enough to push even Diane and King into difficult battles.

This allows Drole to threaten enemies without exposing his true body or to fight on multiple fronts.

Magic Eye

Drole possesses a unique “magic eye,” a mystical organ capable of reading hearts and perceiving what others are thinking.

This clairvoyant ability ties into the human legend of Balor, a one‑eyed god who sees all.

Merlin explains that the artifact “Balor’s Magical Eye,” used by Hawk and others, is named after Drole, the one‑eyed god figure.

While the precise connection between his eye and the artifact is unclear, Drole is strongly implied to be the inspiration for it.

The magic eye supports Drole’s calm, analytical fighting style.

He can gauge opponents’ intentions, resolve, and emotional states, making him difficult to deceive.

Drole’s Dance

Drole performs a special dance passed down through generations of giant clan leaders.

By performing this ritual dance, he can absorb vast amounts of earth magic.

As he continues the dance, his combat power rises steadily over time.

This ability reflects the giants’ deep connection to the land, and Drole, as their supposed progenitor, wields it at the highest level.

Drole’s Commandment from the Demon King is Patience.

Anyone unable to endure pain in his presence suffers increased pain as punishment.

In other words, those who lose their composure and fail to withstand agony face even greater torment.

This commandment reinforces Drole’s thematic link to endurance, perseverance, and the giant clan’s ideal of stoic fortitude.

Although the exact mechanics were not fully showcased in the main story, supplemental materials clarify its effect.

It punishes those who lack patience and tolerance, amplifying their suffering.

Great Vaizel Fighting Festival

After being revived, Drole and Gloxinia appear in the area being developed as Vaizel.

They create an enormous underground maze and stage the Great Vaizel Fighting Festival to gather strong souls.

During the festival, Drole’s giant stone hands serve as arenas, and his divination technique assigns combatants to teams.

The Seven Deadly Sins participate, bringing powerful fighters directly into Drole’s domain.

The event is interrupted when Escanor unleashes an overwhelming attack that halts the matches.

This leads to a direct clash between Drole (with Gloxinia at his side) and Meliodas, who is preparing to strike back.

Even working together, Drole and Gloxinia struggle against Meliodas’s restored power.

However, with backup from other members of the Ten Commandments, the tide turns and they manage to defeat Meliodas.

Crossing fists with Meliodas again, Drole begins to doubt whether his decision 3000 years ago—to submit to the Demon King and the Ten Commandments—was truly right.

This encounter becomes the catalyst for a deep inner reevaluation and eventual change of heart.

Trial of the Past for King and Diane

Troubled by their doubts, Drole and Gloxinia decide to test their lingering regrets.

They use a time‑reversion ritual called the Trial of Return on King and Diane.

This spell sends King and Diane’s consciousness back to the era of the ancient Holy War.

They are made to relive pivotal moments and forced to face the same kind of choices that Drole and Gloxinia once faced.

Drole closely observes Diane’s reactions and decisions.

To his surprise, Diane chooses “to run away” as her path—something that a traditional giant warrior would consider absolutely unacceptable.

For Drole, this is a shocking but enlightening development.

He realizes that having the courage to retreat, rather than stubbornly choosing only to fight or die, can be a sign of true strength and wisdom.

Recognizing this, Drole tells Diane that she will be the one to lead the giant clan in the future.

He entrusts the prosperity and future of the giants to her, believing that her ability to choose a “third option” is what the clan truly needs.

Defection from the Ten Commandments

After witnessing Diane’s unconventional but courageous choice, Drole’s doubts crystalize.

He comes to see his own path—submitting to the Demon King out of fear of death and loneliness—as flawed.

Together with Gloxinia, he decides to abandon the Ten Commandments.

This is a monumental decision, as it means betraying the Demon King and turning his back on the power that once gave him a place to belong.

Their defection marks a turning point in the conflict.

Two of the most formidable Commandments now stand against the Demon Clan and align with The Seven Deadly Sins.

Final Stand Against Chandler

Later, Drole and Gloxinia appear before The Seven Deadly Sins when the group is being relentlessly pursued by Chandler, one of the Demon King’s oldest and most dangerous demons.

Knowing the threat Chandler poses, they step in to buy time.

Drole and Gloxinia confront Chandler in a desperate battle to delay him.

They fight with everything they have, drawing on the full extent of their former Commandment powers and ancient abilities.

Despite their resolve and strength, they are ultimately defeated by Chandler’s overwhelming might.

Nonetheless, their sacrifice succeeds in giving The Seven Deadly Sins valuable time to escape and regroup.

As he dies, Drole entrusts the future of the giant clan to Diane, reaffirming his belief in her.

He also wishes for the happiness of Meliodas and Elizabeth Liones, the two whose love and tragedy were central to the ancient Holy War.

Drole and Gloxinia perish together, having finally found redemption and a sense of peace.

For Drole, this ending transforms him from a feared “god” and misfit into a guardian figure who chose hope over despair.
