Protagonist. Class president of Class 1-1 → 2-1 → 3-1 at Itan Private High School. A tall, beautiful girl with long, straight black hair. She has severe communication disorder, making it difficult for her to converse with anyone outside her family, but she dreams of overcoming it and making 100 friends.

Her personality is introverted and timid. She is kind and considerate of her friends. She has low self-esteem and is sensitive to others' reactions, often getting flustered and panicked by her own and others' actions, but she has a strong core that doesn't bend when it matters. She is well-mannered and speaks politely to everyone except her family. She excels academically and is athletic. Her hobbies include cooking and reading. She names all her stuffed animals. She loves cats but is often avoided by them. She used a cell phone since entering high school but switched to a smartphone in her third year. She is afraid of thunder and couldn't ride a bicycle until her second year of high school, but she learned through practice. She refers to herself as "watashi."

Due to her stunning appearance, she unintentionally became an untouchable Madonna-like figure from her first day of school, leading to isolation due to her communication disorder. However, after the boy sitting next to her, Tadano, got to know and understand her true self, she began making friends with his help and gradually overcame her communication disorder. Her friends write their names and other details in a notebook called "Komi's Friend Notebook" prepared by Najimi.

In her first year, with Tadano's help, she gradually made friends in her class, but most of them ended up in different classes when they advanced. However, she became best friends with the girl sitting next to her, Manbagi, and with Tadano's help, she eventually became friends with all her classmates in her second year. In her third year, she was placed in a class with students who had no friends, but she took the initiative to become the class president to interact with her classmates. Supported by her boyfriend Tadano, she continues to strive to make more friends. Through making friends, she has grown and now wants to expand her world even further, even overseas.

Initially, she would tremble violently when trying to speak verbally with others, always carrying a notebook and writing utensils to communicate through writing. Tadano was the only one she could somehow converse with, followed by Manbagi, and gradually, she became able to speak, albeit awkwardly, with anyone.

She trusts Tadano, her first friend and understanding person, and spends a lot of time with him. Initially, she didn't quite understand the feeling of "liking" someone of the opposite sex, but after a love talk with Kato and Sasaki, she became aware of her romantic feelings for Tadano. During the cultural festival in her second year, Manbagi confessed her feelings for Tadano, and they became best friends and love rivals. However, she couldn't bring herself to confess to Tadano, and Manbagi beat her to it. On the night of Valentine's Day in her second year, Tadano, who had rejected Manbagi, confessed to her, and they became a couple. Their relationship is supported by all their classmates in Class 2-1 and is approved by both their families.

In her relationship with Tadano, she is deeply in love, though she doesn't show it, and is affectionate and lonely. Komi is more assertive towards the shy Tadano, and she likes to have her head patted as a form of physical affection. After a girls' talk about kissing in Class 3-1, she became conscious of kissing and initially had Tadano kiss the back of her hand. Their first kiss was unfortunately accidental, but they shared a consensual kiss during the summer festival. Since then, she has become eager to kiss without restraint, realizing her own promiscuity and reflecting deeply on it.

Her birthday is December 25th.
