Master Liber served as the headmaster of the Royal Liber Academy before stepping fully into her role as a high-ranking arbiter.

Despite her young appearance, her speech, demeanor, and outlook are those of a very old person.

She has lived since the age of the Great Demon War, the era when Abyss Trinity was driven from the surface world into the realm beyond the Divine Comedy Gate.

Because of this extraordinary lifespan, she stands among the very oldest figures in the story’s world.

Over that immense span of time, her body and soul have both decayed and disappeared more than once.

However, her “existence” itself has continued seamlessly, maintaining a continuous identity across eras through unknown means.

In the past, Master Liber was a close friend of Selina Sherlock during Selina’s lifetime.

Selina’s choice to sacrifice her own existence in order to seal the Great Demon Lord deeply shaped Liber’s motivations.

To this day, one of Liber’s driving forces as an anti–Demon Lord arbiter is to ensure that Selina’s sacrifice does not become meaningless.

Even with this conviction, she has grown weary, and another arbiter, Amana, notes that Liber wishes to retire from her seat as an arbiter.

In line with this, Akio Fudou is invited to the heavenly realm as a potential successor to Master Liber.

Liber then arranges for this transformed Hijiri to battle Arata Kasuga.

By orchestrating Hijiri’s loss and disappearance, she plans for Arata, the personification of “emotion,” to be trapped within the Black Emperor Flame Realm and self-destruct.

She carefully stacked choices, futures, and contingencies to funnel reality into this one outcome.

Up until this point, she had existed in a semi-cooperative relationship with the students and staff of Biblia Academy.

Once she executes this plan, however, she decisively severs ties with them and goes her own way.

Shortly after her break with Biblia Academy, the surface world is visited by Faunaria and Malice.

These two confront Master Liber and speak disparagingly of Hijiri, treating her as nothing more than a disposable tool.

For one of the very few times, Master Liber visibly displays anger.

Hijiri’s role as her carefully raised trump card clearly carries personal weight beyond pure calculation.

Provoked by their insults, Liber defeats Faunaria with overwhelming power.

This scene underscores that she still feels genuine attachment to those she has raised, even if she uses them as parts in her larger plan.

Her emotions toward Hijiri and Lugh in particular are described as a form of affection.
