Yajiro works as a laborer in the village called Ishikiri.

Yajiro is actually an "escape helper."

He guides people trying to run away from the dangerous stone quarry, using secret paths.

Meeting Jorogumo

One day, Yajiro finds Jorogumo very badly hurt.

He decides to help her and hides her so no one will catch her.

They become close friends, and Yajiro even gives her the nickname “Ohagi.”

Danger During the Escape

Yajiro tries to help Jorogumo escape from the village.

But along the way, some warrior searching for escape helpers finds them.

The warrior shoots Yajiro in the shoulder, leaving him badly hurt.

Calming Jorogumo

Jorogumo gets really angry and wants to fight the warrior and even Hyakkimaru.

But Yajiro calms her down and helps her let go of her anger.

Disappearing Together

At the end, the two are allowed to go free.

Yajiro and Jorogumo use the secret path and disappear together, going who knows where.
