Flora Beltrum

Flora, the second princess of the Beltrum Kingdom, has a kind and compassionate nature, but unlike her sister Christina, she is timid and poor at asserting herself. She is a year younger than Rio and Christina. When she was young, she was kidnapped by Reiss’s conspiracy but was saved by Rio, who had just awakened memories of his past life. This led to Rio's admission to the Royal Academy and his escape from a life of homelessness. While at the academy, they were in different grades, and Christina's instructions mostly prohibited her from interacting with Rio. During an outdoor exercise, she was attacked by a monster and fell off a cliff amidst the chaos, but was saved by Rio using spirit arts. Shortly after, she was almost attacked by a minotaur summoned by Reiss, but Rio saved her again. However, Rio was scapegoated for the cause of Flora's fall, and this led to his fleeing the kingdom.

Flora herself felt indebted to Rio and harbored a faint romantic feeling, but she continued to regret that she could do nothing when Rio was being discriminated against and unfairly treated at the academy. When a political change occurred in the Beltrum Kingdom, both Flora and the hero Hiromi were raised as figureheads by the Ducal faction of Ygno. While on the way to seek asylum in the Kingdom of Galark, she was attacked by monsters and saved by Rio, now going by the name Haruto, and the familiarity in the way he fought the Minotaur stirred her memories. Later, when abducted by Lucius in Amande, she became certain that Haruto was Rio after Lucius called him Rio during the rescue.

After being rescued by Lucius, she desperately tried to apologize to Rio for everything during their academy days, but Rio, wanting no ties with the kingdom and unable to fully trust Flora, asked her to forget the person named Rio, thereby keeping a certain distance between them.

In Restoration, as the official fiancée of the hero Hiromi, her engagement was formally announced. However, her unconscious fondness for Haruto often displeased Hiromi. After Christina and she were used as hostages in Lucius's scheme, and after some time without any communication, Hiromi’s jealousy towards Rio led to the cancellation of their engagement.

Flora harbors complex feelings of guilt, obligation, and romantic affection towards Rio, but her status as a princess and her personality prevent her from stepping too far.

When she learns that Rio is invited to tea parties by other ladies, her desire to join is evident on her face.

In Restoration, a suggestion from the Duke of Ygno to marry off the ducal daughter Loana as a concubine to the greatly meritorious Haruto emerged, and Christina jokingly suggested Flora as a concubine instead, to which she showed a pleased reaction.

In a side story, after Rio's departure from the kingdom, Flora countered Alphonse and Steward who slandered Rio in the academy, using the truth as she knew it.
