Yakumo is a serpent spirit born in the Wood Territory. After transforming into human form as a child, he was adopted by an elderly couple from a local farming village. Naturally endowed with incredible power, he's ever fearful of going berserk and causing great harm. Despite his constant fears, he's a loyal friend and always strives to be of aid to his allies.
During times of peace, Yakumo is able to convince himself that he's just a regular human. However, he suffers from nightmares. Nightmares in which he hurts the ones he loves. But then, on one fateful day, he encounters a man named Eiden...
Yakumo is 182cm tall, has brown hair with orange underneath, and orange eyes of the same color with slitted pupils. His Obsidian Gemstone is on his left ear.
His special skills include cooking and housework. He likes Eiden and his family.
Yakumo is a kind-hearted, considerate and polite person. Due to his fear of losing control over his power, Yakumo lives a cautious life, so he can be scary when he gets angry. Easily affected by the changes in the mood around him, Yakumo is a sensitive person, and this often leads to excessive self-criticism or getting caught in a whirlwind of emotions because of minor details. In new environments, he has difficulty becoming part of a group because he easily overthinks things. However, he is still an idealist who excels at giving others warmth.
Yakumo's erogenous zone is his tongue. His favourite place in Aster's mansion is the kitchen for cooking. When he showers, he starts by washing his hair.
Yakumo can go into a berserk state where he is covered in dark mist and his essence strengthens.
Yakumo was born as a snake in the Wood Territory cave that held the Shrine to the Great Serpent. There, Yakumo learned about his ancestor, The Great Serpent, from murals in the cave. Since The Great Serpent died without completing his contract with Huey, Yakumo had his gemstone since birth. Humans were deathly afraid of the Great Serpent, so they left offerings in the cave to appease him. However, offerings slowed over time, with only Yakumo's grandfather's family leaving yearly offerings.
Yakumo was shunned by other serpents for his gemstone, and humans would beat him with sticks if he approached. Although Yakumo gained a human form, he lived in the cave for several years. One day, Yakumo tripped and fell while his grandparents made an offering. Yakumo didn't know any human language at the time, and ran away in fear, but eventually learned to trust his grandparents after they brought him food and clothing.
