Touko Fujiwara

Touko, the wife of Shigeru, who took in the orphaned Takashi. She is a kind-hearted and gentle woman who affectionately calls the still somewhat childlike Takashi "Takashi-kun" and raises him with great care. She is skilled in cooking and mostly prepares handmade meals. Her cooking is well-received not only by Takashi and Nyanko-sensei but also by Takashi's friends. She can be a bit meddlesome and is a fan of trends. She enjoys shopping and has a habit of buying more than necessary. Takashi calls her "Touko-san." She refers to Nyanko-sensei as "Nyankichi-kun" or "Neko-chan." There is an episode where Takashi creates a flower bed in the garden for her, as she loves flowers. Although her appearances in the story are generally brief, she is featured in almost every episode. She and her husband are content with just the two of them, as they have no children, but she is somewhat pessimistic about the future where one of them might pass away first, leaving the other alone. They have a relationship that could be described as a picture-perfect couple, and she feels uneasy when separated from Shigeru, even for a short time.
