Daru became interested in Future Gadget Lab only after finding out it was near his hangout spot—the maid cafe.
Before that, he had no intention of joining.
Once he joined, Daru enjoyed his time making gadgets, hacking, and having fun with Okabe and the others.
Hacking SERN
When the team discovered weird effects with the Phone Microwave, Daru’s hacking skills became vital.
Okabe realized there were similarities with SERN’s LHC experiments and encouraged Daru to hack SERN.
Daru was able to do it, but this resulted in everyone getting pulled into big, dangerous events.
Steins;Gate 0
After Kurisu Makise’s tragedy, Okabe gives up his “mad scientist” act.
Since then, Daru helps run the lab and even pays the rent.
He is already Suzuha Amane’s father by the start of this story.
Daru tries his best to push Okabe to save Kurisu Makise again.
He teams up with Maho Hiyajo to fix the Phone Microwave after Okabe throws it away.
