Honekawa

Honekawa is a dedicated educator, often found nurturing the minds of his students in class. He is gentle, a bit absent-minded, and has a penchant for getting wrapped up in the strange incidents that regularly occur around Rito Yuki.

He has a sensitive nature, sometimes reacting with exaggerated emotion when confronted with the supernatural or the unexpected. For example, he nearly faints upon witnessing a soulless Oshizu, and once almost died of shock.

Though largely supportive, Honekawa becomes a comedic victim to the chaos of Rito Yuki’s world. He accidentally falls in love with Rito after eating enchanted chocolates from Lala Satalin Deviluke.

Honekawa has also been rendered unconscious from stress when Yui Kotegawa—or rather a jellyfish monster disguised as her—suddenly made romantic advances toward him. These bizarre episodes highlight his knack for being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

He enjoys gardening, spending his free time behind the school building tending to a flower bed. Honekawa raises an impressive amount of vegetables, finding peace and fulfillment in this solitary hobby.

Honekawa’s dramatic reactions in unusual situations have made him a favorite comic relief character. Although he appears frail and somewhat comical now, his striking looks in his youth are sometimes referenced as a surprising tidbit.

He values the well-being of his students and earnestly tries to maintain order despite the unpredictable events that surround his classroom.
