A Human in the Demon Lord's Army

Ike is the main character of the story and holds the impressive title of Captain of the Undead Brigade. This brigade is part of the Demon Lord's Army's 7th Corps.

He was once taken in by the great magician Romberg. It was from Romberg that he inherited his incredible knowledge and magical abilities.

Hidden Identity

To conceal his human nature, Ike typically wears a mask and a robe. This keeps his biggest secret safe from both allies and enemies.

When forced into battle, Ike makes a conscious effort to avoid killing human opponents whenever he can.

Only a select few are aware of his true identity. These individuals are Cefiro, the commander of the 7th Corps; his maid, Satie; and the Demon Lord, the supreme commander of the army.

A Reincarnator?

Interestingly, Ike is actually a reincarnated person from modern-day Japan.

However, this fascinating piece of his backstory is not mentioned in the anime adaptation of the series.
