Tamayo Shima is the eldest daughter (the second child) of the Shima family, born on April 13, 1903 (Meiji 36). She is two years older than her younger brother, Tamahiko Shima. Tamayo has a strong-willed personality and is concerned about her father's inheritance. Although she first appears refined, gentle, and elegant, she possesses a cold-blooded side. At the age of 13, she showed a cruel side by enjoying harsh games while looking after her younger sister, Tamako Shima.
Tamayo has a father complex and obstructs both Tamaki Shima and Tamahiko Shima. She poisons Tamaki Shima and schemes to drive Tamahiko away. In "Showa Otome Fairy Tale," at 25 years old, she becomes the head of the Shima conglomerate. She adopts Jintaro as her son and assigns a boy named Seiji to serve him.
Tamayo kills Seiji, who possessed a letter written by Jintaro, and inflicts wounds on Jintaro herself with a knife, leaving him traumatized and developing a twisted form of maternal affection towards him. As their relationship deepens, Tamayo comes to understand that she became unable to bear children since she was 13 years old.
After being arrested in connection to the Shima Cinema arson incident, she quietly dies of tuberculosis, which she had secretly been suffering from, in December 1932 (Showa 7).
