In the game’s version of the story, Eric was still a new recruit during a surprise attack on the Knight Order.
He saw a huge rock fall and crush both veteran and new knights, including Roderick Beresford.
Eric tried to dodge a falling rock following his training, but found himself unable to move, and died as a result.
Alternative Reality
In the real story timeline, Pride Royal Ivy used her foresight ability to save Eric from a landslide and helped Roderick too.
Eric felt deep gratitude toward Pride for saving his life and started to work even harder, training his skills in swords, guns, martial arts, literature, and dance.
His ability to judge strength and situations improved, yet he still thought of himself as only average.
Eric is calm and friendly, and his leadership is trusted by those around him.
He joined the group of personal knights protecting Pride Royal Ivy after Alan Berners and before Arthur Beresford.
Despite believing he is ordinary, Eric constantly pushes himself to meet the high standards he admires in Alan and the other knights.
