Chikurun is a fairy boy working under Orba, appearing in Witchy Precure! From episode 34 onwards. He looks like a child dressed in a yellow outfit, similar to a bee, and he loves sweet things, especially honey. Chikurun is lively but also a bit negative and immature, often acting clumsy but having a kind heart for those close to him. He was once from the "Fairy Village" in the Magic World but became Orba's servant due to being caught skipping duties. While assigned to spy on the Pretty Cures as an enemy infiltrator, Chikurun grows attached to Mirai Asahina and her friends, leading to a big turning point where he betrays his boss to help the Pretty Cures. His story is filled with growth, emotion, and memorable friendships.
Chikurun is lively and energetic.
He talks about himself using "Oira."
He can be a little negative, quickly getting scared when someone strong threatens him.
He likes to complain and often grumbles behind others’ backs where they cannot hear.
Even though he can act sneaky, Chikurun is friendly and easy to like.
He really loves sweet foods and cannot resist treats.
Chikurun is not good at hiding secrets and slips up often.
He acts familiar and casual with anyone he gets close to.
He treats everyone with kindness deep down, sometimes to his own trouble.
He does not make others feel nervous, which strangely makes him fit for spying.
Chikurun comes from the Fairy Village, a mysterious place in the Magic World.
The Fairy Village’s location is a secret, and even the Headmaster of the Magic School does not know where it is.
Chikurun became Orba’s underling after being caught skipping out on looking for honey for the Queen.
Afraid of a harsh punishment from the Queen, Chikurun made a deal with Orba to do anything to keep his secret.
Because of this, Orba uses him as a “friend,” but really treats him like a tool.
Chikurun’s main “ability” is his cleverness as a spy.
He is very observant and notices details others miss, like realizing Mofurun is the source of Pretty Cure’s power.
He tries to be sneaky, but his charm and friendliness often make it hard to keep secrets.
He sometimes uses creativity to escape trouble or trick others.
- Orba: Chikurun works under Orba because he was caught skipping duties. He holds some resentment towards Orba and often complains when Orba isn't around.
- Queen: Chikurun greatly fears the Queen of Fairy Village and tries to hide his misbehavior from her. He deeply cares for her and wants to make her happy.
- Pretty Cure Girls (Mirai Asahina, Riko, Ha-chan): At first, he spies on them. Later, he grows close, especially with Mofurun, developing real friendships.
- Mofurun: Chikurun becomes good friends with Mofurun. He feels comfortable around Mofurun and spends lots of time together.
- Shakince: Chikurun tries to protect the Pretty Cures from Shakince, even if it means risking himself.
- Sparda: Chikurun bravely stands up to Sparda and Orba to protect his friends and Fairy Village.
Mission as a Spy
Chikurun first appears at the end of episode 34 alongside Orba.
From episode 35, Orba asks Chikurun to find out the secret behind the Pretty Cures’ power.
Chikurun carefully watches Mirai Asahina and her friends day by day.
He soon finds out that Mofurun is always at the center of the Precure group.
Meeting the Pretty Cures
Chikurun can’t resist eating honey pancakes at the Asahina house and gets caught by Mirai Asahina and the others.
He lies and says he is there searching for delicious honey from the Magic World.
He becomes friends with them, especially Mofurun.
Chikurun reports this to Orba, who decides to see Mofurun himself.
Secret Is Revealed
During a battle, Chikurun is almost caught in Orba’s attacks.
He is protected by the Pretty Cures, which makes him start to care for them.
From then on, he spends time with Mirai Asahina and her friends as one of their group, all while still reporting to Orba in secret.
Torn Loyalties and Betrayal
As Chikurun grows fonder of his new friends, Shakince returns at full strength and plans to destroy the Pretty Cures.
Chikurun, panicking, promises to steal the Linkle Stones to keep the Pretty Cures safe.
He does steal the Linkle Stones and gives them to Shakince, but Shakince tries to defeat the powerless girls anyway.
Realizing he has made things worse, Chikurun bravely enters Shakince’s body to retrieve the stolen items.
The Pretty Cures forgive him, and together they defeat Shakince.
Confession and Return to Fairy Village
After the battle, Chikurun apologizes to everyone and tells the truth about Orba’s blackmail.
At Mofurun’s suggestion, everyone goes to the Fairy Village to meet the Queen.
Chikurun is worried but only gets a mild punishment because the Queen missed him so much.
Suddenly, Orba and Sparda attack the village.
Chikurun stands up to them to protect his friends and Fairy Village.
Farewell and Promise
Chikurun decides to stay in the Fairy Village and says goodbye to Mirai Asahina and her friends, trying not to cry.
Later, he helps everyone in the final battle.
In the last episode, he even goes to the human world to collect honey, helps Mirai Asahina find Ha-chan’s missing wand, and shares snacks with his friends.
Chikurun is probably inspired by Hutch the Honeybee because of his bee-like look and love for honey.
He is the first fairy in a Pretty Cure series to join the enemy organization without transforming into a human.
His name, Chikurun, comes from the word “chikuru,” which means “to tattle” and the prickly sound “chiku,” connecting to his bee motif.
Chikurun’s name pairs with Mofurun’s name (“mofu” means “soft” and “chiku” means “sting/poke”), showing their contrasting personalities.
“If you don’t listen to me, I’ll sting you!” (“Iu koto kiite kurenai to chikuchiku shichau zo!!”)
