An elderly mahjong player who reigns as a top member of the Sakura Rin Association. Within the organization, he is affectionately known as "Grandpa," recognized for his calm discards and profound ability to read the game. He often offered warm words and stern advice to Kei, with whom he shared his high school days. Phrases such as "A high school friend is a friend for life" and "You should cherish your present time more" conveyed a sense of gravitas in his every word. Sometimes, he would consciously play mahjong in a calm manner to demonstrate this demeanor.
However, in a decisive match of fate, he was defeated by Ai and suffered the grave consequence of losing all his fingers. This incident led him to retire from being a mahjong substitute, and he spent his days in quietude. Yet, in the "Human Pillar Arc," he reunites with Kei and faces him in a destined confrontation. As a result of Kei's victory over Ai, he experiences a miracle where he regains all his lost fingers.
When he later reappeared, while his fingers had been restored, they were left with disabilities that hindered their proper function. It was revealed that the cancer had metastasized, and he did not have long to live. In the end, he offered words of encouragement to Kei and quietly passed away, bringing his life to a close.
