A mysterious young man named Ire suddenly appears before Mirai Asahina and Liko Izayoi, changing the flow of their magical adventure in Witchy Precure!! ~MIRAIDAYS~. With a normal appearance and cryptic words, Ire seems out of place yet very intriguing. He works in a library, researches dark magic even though he isn’t a magician, and controls powers linked to chaos and time. His true goal is to reunite with his late mother by manipulating time itself, leading him to battle the Precure and set dangerous plans in motion. Despite being an enemy, Ire’s story is full of sadness and mystery, making viewers both wary and sympathetic. His fate remains unresolved, making him a fascinating character whose impact lingers even after his departure.
Ire looks like a regular young man from the magic-less world, wearing everyday clothes that don’t stand out.
This normal look is even pointed out by characters in the story and joked about by the voice actors.
He always carries a shoulder bag and is usually seen with a small dog.
In his private life, he lives in a mansion-style home.
Ire acts like a storyteller and likes to use lines about “stories” and “books.”
He’s mysterious and calm, often talking in riddles.
Even though he is not a magician, he takes an interest in magical battles and research.
He is collected but motivated by a painful longing to see his mother again.
Ire was born and grew up in the magic-less world.
His father passed away early, so he lived with his mother, Elina, a graduate of the Magic School.
Ire learned about magic from his mother’s stories.
Tragically, Ire lost his mother too, leaving him lonely and obsessed with wanting to return to the past and see her again.
This obsession led him to study dark magic, eventually contacting Chronoust, the locked-up Beast of Time.
Ire is not a magician but has studied and created unique “dark magic.”
He controls a leftover minion of Deusmast (the Enduring Chaos), using its powers to fight on the level of the Precure.
He can create special barrier fields and uses a pot to release smoky powers for defense and attack.
Ire can also see the past and future and travel through time—abilities given to him by Chronoust.
He can share this ability with others, like Mirai Asahina and Liko Izayoi.
He is able to seal Ha-chan inside the Linkle Smartphone and weaken her powers.
Ire can make monsters from his memories and trick others by giving them similar time-seeing powers.
His mother, Elina, was a strong influence, teaching him about magic and love.
Most of Ire’s actions are driven by his wish to meet her again.
He seems to control a Deusmast minion, but it’s not clear why this evil being listens to him, a normal human.
He interacts with Mirai Asahina, Liko Izayoi, Ha-chan, and Hisui as rivals or enemies, but he isn’t purely evil—he has a sad, sympathetic side.
“I’ve been waiting for you. With my neck stretched out so long…I finally got to meet you, the one holding Mother Rapapa’s power. Let me begin my story.”
The Arrival of Ire
Ire suddenly appears in front of Mirai Asahina and Liko Izayoi.
He claims he is not a magician but a regular person.
He starts working as a library staff member while living in a mansion with his pet dog.
Right away, he acts like a storyteller and hints at big events to come.
Researching Dark Magic
Ire studies “dark magic” on his own, even though he lives in the magic-less world.
He tames a Deusmast minion, a survivor from a lost battle in the past.
Stealing Precure Powers
Using his powers, Ire weakens Ha-chan’s magical abilities and traps her inside the Linkle Smartphone.
He lures Mirai Asahina and Liko Izayoi into a trap with monsters and even gives them the power to see past and future, maybe to lower their guard.
True Goal Revealed
Ire’s goal is to revive Chronoust, the Beast of Time.
He needs the power of Mother Rapapa, carried by Ha-chan and Hisui, to do this.
His time-seeing ability comes from Chronoust, and he can summon monsters from his memories.
Final Battle and Fate
In episode 6, Ire reveals everything and launches a big attack by summoning a giant monster shaped like Magic School.
The Precure face a hard battle but finally win, purifying the monster.
Though defeated, Ire uses the last of the minion’s power to bring Ha-chan back by using Hisui as a vessel.
Afterward, Ire turns to stone after seemingly traveling to the past world with Chronoust’s power at his command.
What Happens After
With Chronoust defeated, most people return to normal, but Ire’s stone body goes missing.
No one knows if he changed for good and returned to the present or stayed in the past world, still holding on to his dream.
Mirai Asahina says, if she ever meets Ire again, she’ll be really excited.
The ending leaves Ire’s true fate a mystery.
Unsolved Mysteries
It’s never explained why Deusmast’s minion listened to a normal human like Ire, since these beings were supposed to be pure evil and totally inhuman.
Some fans wonder if Ire was simply used by the minion and not truly in control.
The minion itself is never fully revived or given a unique name, and vanishes after Ire uses up all its power.
Ire’s voice actor is Toshiyuki Toyonaga, who previously voiced Kento Mikoshiba in Fresh Pretty Cure!
His character design is much more normal than other Precure enemies, leading to lots of jokes by the staff and cast.
Mirai Asahina’s actor, Rie Takahashi, noted how unusual it was to have a villain attack with a shoulder bag!
The creators chose Ire’s “plain” appearance on purpose, as a contrast to the usually monster-like villains in the Precure series.
In an interview in Animage Magazine, the staff explained that Ire’s normal look was intended to make him stand out among the more fantastical enemies.
