Character Setting

Edit

Juuichi is a man who trades in information and ghost stories in a post-apocalyptic world and is a former “Seed Boar No. 11” from a town where women ruled and men were kept only for breeding.

Juuichi lives as a traveling informant, selling rumors, secrets, and scary stories to survive.

He owns an old wagon and often uses it to move between ruined settlements and dangerous territories.

In the past, he was imprisoned in a matriarchal town where men were reduced to numbered breeding stock.

There, he was known only as “No. 11,” one of the “seed boars” forced to provide sperm.

Despite this dehumanizing life, he retained his sense of self and a strong will to protect the people he cared about.

His story is deeply tied to his attempt to escape with his child and the women who loved that child.

Juuichi is cautious but bold when it matters, shaped by years of oppression and constant danger.

He tends to speak in a dry, understated way, using rumors and ghost stories both as income and as emotional armor.

He is deeply loyal to those he recognizes as family, even if he rarely shows it openly.

His willingness to risk everything for his child reveals a protective and vengeful side beneath his cool exterior.

He also displays a practical intelligence.

Rather than charge in recklessly, he gathers information, makes plans, and uses his mobility and knowledge of the world to his advantage.

Before becoming a roaming informant, Juuichi lived in a closed-off town ruled entirely by women.

In this town, men were stripped of their identities and called “seed boars,” kept alive only to provide sperm.

Juuichi was designated “No. 11,” losing even his name to this system.

The women in power controlled reproduction, while men existed as breeding assets without rights or freedom.

This environment turned the town into a cold, authoritarian place disguised as orderly and stable.

For Juuichi, it was little more than a gilded prison, where human bonds were heavily policed and punished.

While serving as Seed Boar No. 11, Juuichi provided sperm to a female couple who wanted a child.

From that union, a boy named Juugo was born, genetically Juuichi’s son.

The couple and Juuichi slowly formed a covert emotional bond centered on Juugo.

Although the system treated Juuichi as a mere donor, he began to see Juugo as his real child.

Eventually, Juuichi and the couple decided to attempt an escape from the town.

Their plan was for Juuichi, the two women, and Juugo to flee together and start a life beyond the oppressive regime.

The escape attempt, however, went horribly wrong.

Only Juuichi managed to get out; the women were captured before they could escape with Juugo.

The authorities responded with brutal severity.

The female couple who had tried to flee with him were executed in a “purge” meant to send a message to everyone else.

Juuichi escaped with his life but not with his family.

He carried the guilt and loss of abandoning Juugo and the couple, even though the failure was beyond his full control.

After his escape, Juuichi took up life on the road, traveling in an old wagon that became both his transport and his base.

He began dealing in information, rumors, and ghost stories, trading knowledge for food, fuel, and safety.

His work made him a kind of underground node in the shattered world’s information network.

He heard about settlements, human-eating monsters, and strange incidents, and he turned all of it into something he could sell or barter.

Telling ghost stories served a double purpose.

They entertained and unnerved his audience, while also disguising fragments of real information inside exaggerated tales.

This lifestyle kept him moving and difficult to track, which was ideal for a man with enemies and a painful past.

At the same time, it allowed him to quietly search for traces of Juugo and the town he once fled.

At some point in his travels, Juuichi met Maru and Kiruko, two travelers with their own goals and burdens.

Their paths crossed when their interests aligned, especially concerning the ruined settlements and the so-called Heaven-like facilities.

He eventually shared parts of his past with them, including his connection to the female-dominated town.

Through this, Maru and Kiruko learned about the existence of the “seed boars” and about Juugo.

Realizing that Juugo might still be alive, Juuichi made the decision to go back.

He, Maru, and Kiruko returned to the region where the town had once stood.

When Juuichi, Maru, and Kiruko reached the area of the women-ruled town, they found only devastation.

The settlement had already been annihilated by man-eating creatures, leaving ruins where the oppressive system had once stood.

The female authorities and most of the population were wiped out.

The social order that had reduced men to numbered breeders had collapsed not by revolt, but by an external, monstrous force.

In the middle of this destruction, a few of the surviving seed boars had managed to stay alive.

They were no longer just breeding stock; with the old power structure gone, they had to fend for themselves.

Among the survivors, Juuichi finally found Juugo.

The boy had been raised by the remaining seed boars, growing up under their protection after the fall of the town.

The reunion between father and son marked a turning point for Juuichi.

After carrying regret and guilt for so long, he could finally see Juugo alive, no longer within the grasp of the system that had taken everything from them.

Recognizing the importance of Maru and Kiruko’s mission connected to the mysterious highland academy, Juuichi chose to support them.

He decided to give his old wagon to Maru and Kiruko so they could reach their destination more safely and quickly.

By handing over his vehicle, Juuichi gave up a major part of his roaming lifestyle and his livelihood as an informant.

This gesture showed both his trust in them and his understanding that their journey might affect the wider future of the world.

With the wagon, Maru and Kiruko continued toward the highland academy, while Juuichi’s path diverged.

He stayed behind with Juugo, ready to start a different life now that his son was finally with him.

Juuichi had never forgotten that their original escape attempt was betrayed.

Back when he tried to flee with Juugo and the two women, a man had reported them, leading to the failure of the plan and the couple’s execution.

Returning to the region and reclaiming his son gave Juuichi a chance to settle that old score.

Driven by long-simmering rage and grief, he hunted down the man who had informed on them.

Juuichi took his revenge on the informant, closing a chapter that had haunted him since his days as Seed Boar No. 11.

The act was not just retaliation but a final rejection of the system and the people who had enforced it.

After exacting his revenge, Juuichi disappeared together with Juugo.

They slipped out of sight, leaving no clear trail, choosing anonymity and freedom over any remaining ties to their past.

Where Juuichi and Juugo go after this is left uncertain.

But for Juuichi, who once had no name and no freedom, vanishing into the wider world with his son is the closest thing to true liberation he has ever known.
