Dokurokushe looks like a living skeleton.

He covers his whole body with a thick robe that is mostly green.

He also has large shoulder pads and wears a big white cape.

His face is completely covered by cloth, and only the shape of a skull can sometimes be seen in the shadows.

From his robe’s sleeves, his bony, skeleton-like hands are visible when he moves.

Dokurokushe always holds a mysterious book about dark magic, which he uses to cast powerful spells.

Dokurokushe speaks in an old, wise manner, calling himself “Ware.”

He says very little, often letting Yamoh speak for him.

He wants to get stronger no matter what it costs, even if it means hurting others.

His only desire is to absorb all light and magic in the world.

He feels no kindness or happiness anymore, only endless greed.

He is calm and collected, but his glowing eyes can scare anyone.

Despite being a villain, he was once a gentle teacher.

He loved sweets so much that he even got a toothache.

Long ago, Dokurokushe was a famous magic teacher named Kushii.

Kushii was headmaster’s old friend and wanted to protect the world from disasters.

He started to study dark, forbidden magic, wanting more power to save everyone.

But that darkness took control of him, and after his death, his strong wish for power changed him into Dokurokushe, an undead driven by desire.

He lost all good memories and only remembered the need for power.

As Dokurokushe, he leads the evil forces that fight against the Precure.

Dokurokushe can use very strong dark magic just by waving his hands—he doesn’t need a wand.

He can fire huge black beams, make strong winds, and release energy that looks like dark snakes or tentacles.

He can make black skull-like objects from his own magical energy.

In his final giant skeleton form, he can even swallow everything into a kind of dark hole in his mouth.

He can absorb energy from his enemies, even from nature itself, slowly making the world turn dark and lifeless.

He uses the Linkle Stone Emerald to make himself even more dangerous.

He can fuse with the Linkle Smartbook and get even stronger, growing into a huge giant made of bones.

He was once good friends with the Headmaster.

The Headmaster tries to help him remember his kind heart.

Yamoh is his most loyal servant and speaks for him.

His underlings, like Batty and Sparda, sometimes doubt he is real because he never speaks or moves.

Dokuro Mushii is a strange creature born from Dokurokushe’s tooth, showing his connection to his past as Kushii.

He has no real care for his minions and will even absorb them if it makes him stronger.

The Mysterious Leader

Dokurokushe is the boss of the villains who want to cover the world in darkness.

He sits on his throne, always quiet.

He lets Yamoh talk for him and control the other minions.

He sends his minions to find the Linkle Stone Emerald and the Linkle Smartbook.

Unveiling the Truth

The Headmaster discovers Dokurokushe’s hiding place.

He realizes that Dokurokushe is actually his old friend Kushii, changed by his wish for more magic.

Dokurokushe’s goal is to absorb all the magic and energy in the world to become even more powerful.

The Final Battle

Dokurokushe gets the Linkle Smartbook and the emerald.

He uses their power to turn into a huge skeleton giant.

His mouth becomes a dark hole that sucks away all life from the magic world and even the normal world.

He even absorbs Yamoh, his loyal servant, to get even more power.

Mirai Asahina and Liko Izayoi fight bravely to save Ha-chan, who is trapped inside him.

With their friendship and courage, plus Ha-chan’s new strength, they blast Dokurokushe with their strongest magic.

He is finally defeated, his skeleton body falls apart, and his vengeful spirit is wiped away by Ha-chan’s light.

After Dokurokushe’s Defeat

Even after Dokurokushe is destroyed, his bones are left behind in the sea.

Yamoh comes back and uses the bones to create more evil monsters called Super Yokubaru.

Yamoh hears Dokurokushe’s voice, but it is only in his head because he still believes Dokurokushe is guiding him.

Finally, all of Dokurokushe’s power fades away after the last Super Yokubaru is defeated.

The Black Magic Book

Throughout the show, Dokurokushe keeps a magic book hidden inside his robe.

This “Black Book” is full of forbidden dark spells.

Later in the series, this book causes even more trouble when Orba finds it and uses it.

The Legacy of Dokuro Mushii

A strange monster called Dokuro Mushii is created from one of Dokurokushe’s old toothaches.

Dokuro Mushii loves sweets just like Kushii did.

He tries to take all the sweets for himself, but the Precure purify him and he leaves peacefully with Yamoh.

This adds a fun and silly touch to the story.

The name Dokurokushe comes from “skull” and “Kushii,” and also sounds similar to "toxic" in Japanese.

He is the first main undead enemy in the Pretty Cure series.

Despite his scary form, he loved sweets a lot before he became Dokurokushe.

His skeleton is used by Yamoh to create more monsters even after he disappears.

The Black Magic Book he carried later appears in the show to cause more trouble.

Dokurokushe’s story is about the danger of wanting too much power.

He was once a good person who only wanted to help.

But he lost his way, turned into a villain, and hurt everyone, even himself.

In the end, it is love and friendship that finally set him free.
