Dione Nephilim is a female Gigas from *Monster Girl Doctor*, revered in Harpy folklore as the "Great God" and known as the sole surviving member of her race.
Name: Dione Nephilim
Gender: Female
Species: Gigas
Height: About ten times the height of a human
Voice Actor: Hisako Kanemoto
Dione Nephilim is a giant woman of the Gigas race who has been passed down in the Harpies' oral tradition as a divine giant.
She is the only known surviving Gigas.
Despite her overwhelming size, Dione is shy, gentle, and mild-mannered.
She speaks in a slow, relaxed way and has an especially calm temperament.
Her skin is dark brown, and her green hair is covered in moss.
Because of her enormous body, even casual movement can frighten the animals living in the mountains.
To avoid causing trouble, she usually lives quietly in a cave near the mountain summit.
There she spends her days peacefully playing with mountain animals.
Dione's body is not merely gigantic, but biologically unusual.
To support her immense weight, most of her body surface, except for the face and chest, has hardened into a bark-like outer layer that functions almost like an exoskeleton.
Her hair hosts a special kind of moss, further emphasizing that her physiology is closer to plant life than to ordinary humanoids.
This plant-like constitution is one of her most distinctive traits.
Her scale makes even harmless actions dangerous.
When she walks, the ground trembles like an earthquake.
Even her sneezes are catastrophic.
A single sneeze can unleash a violent gust of wind along with enormous droplets.
Although she appears awe-inspiring and terrifying in legend, Dione herself is extremely kind.
She is bashful, warm-hearted, and never aggressive.
She dislikes alarming others and tries to behave with care.
One reason she moves so slowly is that she does not want to step on small forest animals.
This gentle habit unintentionally caused trouble in the past.
The long-lasting "earthquakes" around the Harpy village were actually the result of Dione approaching as carefully and slowly as possible.
Because her metabolism is extremely slow, ordinary illnesses can linger for extraordinary lengths of time.
A common cold of hers lasted for about ten years.
After hearing that Glenn Litbeit had come to the Harpy village, she set out toward the settlement in hopes of receiving treatment.
She moved as slowly as she could, both because of her condition and because she wanted to avoid harming wildlife.
At first, the Harpies were upset by the repeated tremors and misunderstood the situation.
Once the truth was revealed, Dione was treated by Glenn Litbeit and remained in the village to recuperate.
After her recovery, she returned to her original home.
She later continued her peaceful life while hearing updates about Lindworm from Illy, with whom she had become close.
Skadi Dragenfelt
Dione and Skadi Dragenfelt are old friends.
Their relationship goes back a long way.
Illy
Dione later became close with Illy as well.
After returning home, she enjoyed hearing Illy talk about recent events in Lindworm.
Glenn Litbeit
Glenn Litbeit was the doctor who treated her long-standing cold.
His arrival at the Harpy village was the reason Dione came down from the mountain in the first place.
The Harpies
The Harpies had long spoken of Dione as a legendary divine giant.
At first they reacted negatively because of the tremors and misunderstandings surrounding her approach.
That tension did not last.
They soon reconciled and developed a friendly relationship.
Dione helped them by removing a rock that had blocked a water source.
Afterward, she and the Harpies exchanged fruit as gifts and offerings.
Aranya Tarantella Arachnida
Because Dione's old clothes had become tattered, Aranya Tarantella Arachnida made her a new outfit.
It included a hat and an apron made generously with animal fur.
Back in her mountain home, Dione lives a quiet and secluded life.
She spends much of her time with animals near the summit cave.
She also tried taking up correspondence out of boredom.
Using a pencil she had received as a gift, she attempted to write letters.
However, tools sized for ordinary people are far too small for her.
Because of that, she often snaps the pencil and is unable to write very many pages.
Dione's name is derived from two sources.
One is Dione, a Titan from Greek mythology, and the other is the Nephilim, giants who appear in the Old Testament.
