Katsumi Shibata

A classmate of Takashi from elementary school who once bullied him by calling him a "liar." Currently attending a different high school, he visited Takashi due to an old acquaintance to verify if Murasaki, the spirit of the mountain wisteria, was human. He regrets having bullied Takashi and talks to his classmates about how he didn't believe him in the past. Through the Murasaki incident, he became friends with Takashi again. He is handsome and popular with girls. Later, he also met Kaname through Takashi's introduction. Although he does not appear directly in the movie, his name comes up in a conversation between Natsume and Nyanko-sensei.
