Ouetsu Nimaiya

Third Officer of Squad Zero, the Western War God.

A man with a hairdo like a reggae dancer and a voice like a rapper. His nickname is "Sword God." His base in Zero Squad is the Phoenix Palace.

He is the creator of Zanpakuto. Since the founding of the Soul Society, he has created all the prototype nameless Zanpakuto called "Asauchi," which serve as the model for every Shinigami's own Zanpakuto. As a result, he knows the whereabouts of all "Asauchi" even though Ichigo's Zanpakuto was not made by him until it was reforged in the Royal Palace.

Later, when Yhwach and his guards invaded the Royal Palace, he confronts them at Saihafushi, instantly killing Gerard, Pernida, and Lille, and dealing a fatal wound to Nakkulvar. However, soon after, he suffers abnormalities in his body due to Nakkulvar's abilities, struggles in battle but ultimately succeeds with the help of Tenjiro. However, he is eventually defeated and killed by a reinvigorated Lille, who punches a hole through his body after Yhwach activates "Sanctification."

In the anime, after being injured by Lille, he receives healing from Senjumaru and continues the battle. He puts up a good fight against Lille, using the essence of penetrating all things, but after receiving a critical injury, he orders Senjumaru to wipe out the guards and commits suicide.

In the novel "BLEACH Can't Fear Your Own World," after being resurrected, he learns that "Mikazuki Munechika" has been stolen from the Phoenix Palace and, seething with anger, realizes from the scars on the escorted Zanpakuto that it is the work of Tokinada Tsunayashiro.

Zanpakuto: "Saihafushi"

The Zanpakuto wielded by Ouetsu during the counterattack against Yhwach. Its release command is unknown.

It has the same shape as a normal Asauchi, but its cutting ability is so abnormal that it can cut endlessly without dulling the blade or getting a single drop of blood on it. However, due to its excessive sharpness, no scabbard can contain it, and it must be stored in a special liquid. Consequently, it is deemed a "failure" and has never been used, as it cannot be sent to the Gotei 13.
