Äs Nödt

A tall, slender male Quincy dressed in a long coat resembling a military uniform, sporting a black mask with thorns and long black hair. He refers to himself as "boku."

He speaks in a distinctive way, mixing hiragana, katakana, kanji, and the archaic "ヰ (i)." Underneath his mask, his lips appear to be painfully torn, exposing his teeth. Before undergoing consecration, his face and tone of speech were normal, suggesting some influence from his abilities.

During the first invasion, he stole Byakuya's Bankai and dominated by using his "Schutzstaffel" powers simultaneously. Later, during a surprise attack on Yama-jii with Bazz-B and Nanja, he was defeated, but only suffered burns due to Bazz-B neutralizing the fire.

In the second invasion, Byakuya reclaimed his Bankai through Urahara's invading shadow medicine. As Nödt later clashed with Rukia to lure Byakuya, but Rukia, having blossomed into the real powers of "Sode no Shirayuki" through training at the Zero Division Palace, initially froze him. Fear of Yhwach allowed him to break free from the ice and transform into his complete Quincy form. He was then counterattacked, but ultimately perished in a tragic form, begging for mercy from his emperor, crumbling into pieces out of fear of death as he had feared in his human life.

Originally one of the Quincies who survived the "consecration," he had been a patient in dire need of respiratory aid, living a life filled with fear of death (he lived only due to Yhwach's abilities). Yhwach then granted him powers because he survived the consecration, although weakened.

Ability "The Fear":

With his Schrift "F," he invokes intense, instinctual fear in his targets by shooting them with thorn-like "arrows." The mere touch of these arrows releases a black, liquid-like fear, causing those of weaker mental fortitude to go mad instantly, and even those with strong wills find themselves significantly hindered. The fear effect continues even if the arrow's motion is physically stopped.

Weakness includes being ineffective against beings like Rukia, who either have abilities or states like zombification where no biological functions are occurring or are irrelevant.

Features wings like thorns on his back and a coronet of thorns around his head resembling a pentagram. His eyes, void of irises, weep blood-like tears; his arms darken, his skin stretches like a long skirt, and grotesque stitches run from his feet to his throat. During intense moments, his body begins to decay, spawning flesh that grows substantially, with ribs protruding from his skin and eyeballs hanging out of their sockets, dangling him upside down from his chin.

This gruesome form enhances his "Fear" ability, directly twisting fear in the minds and hearts of those who see him through their optic nerves, burning their conscience. Even if one avoids direct eye contact, he can form walls of flesh with numerous similar eyes that encircle and trap the target, moving at will.
