Kikuko

Kikuko is Nikuko-chan's daughter, a responsible fifth-grade elementary school student. Both her appearance and personality are the complete opposite of Nikuko-chan. She speaks in an Osaka dialect when around Nikuko-chan, but uses a different way of speaking in other situations, which leads Sassan to call her "bilingual." Now accustomed to life at the fishing port, she feels uneasy at the thought of Nikuko-chan leaving this place because of a new romance. Recently, she has found herself drawn to a male classmate, Ninomiya. Since childhood, she has loved reading and is currently a fan of J.D. Salinger's "The Catcher in the Rye."
