Sakura Inami is a supporting character who appears in the series Beyond the Boundary, driven by a deep connection to her late sister Yui and a complicated rivalry with Mirai Kuriyama.
Sakura comes across as cold and calculating at first glance, but beneath that icy exterior lies a truly kind heart devoted to her beloved older sister.
After Yui’s death, she is determined to carry on her will, yet her genuine care often gets overshadowed by her fierce resolve.
Sakura is Yui’s younger sister and holds a profound, fated history with Mirai.
She pursues Mirai all the way to Nagatsuki City, driven by feelings that are anything but simple.
Following Yui’s death, Sakura vows to become a Spirit World Warrior in her sister’s place, but tragically, she lacks the innate talent and power the role requires.
This shortcoming breeds a deep-seated mix of envy and jealousy toward Mirai’s natural abilities.
Seeing her vulnerability, Miroku Fujima exploits her feelings and offers her a deal.
He entrusts her with a special weapon powered by a Yōmu Stone that grows stronger, but only on the condition that she kill Mirai Kuriyama.
However, the weapon does not suit Sakura at all and becomes increasingly uncontrollable and dangerous as its power escalates.
During the attack of the Hollow Shadow on Nagatsuki City, Sakura seizes the chance to ambush Mirai.
She overwhelms Mirai while her power is still restrained, but is forced to retreat due to Akihito Kanbara’s sudden interference and the chaos caused by the Hollow Shadow.
In their subsequent rematch, Sakura is completely outmatched when Mirai unleashes her full strength.
When Mirai bluntly declares that Sakura “can never become a Spirit World Warrior,” Sakura’s will to fight shatters completely.
Immediately after, the weapon goes berserk and tries to consume her, but Mirai steps in to save her life.
Sakura finally reconciles with Mirai and they start living together under the same roof in Mirai’s home.
