Freed Sellzen

Freed Sellzen is a young boy with messy white hair.

He often wears a priest’s outfit, but uses it like a battle uniform.

He usually carries guns and swords, especially light-based weapons, which makes him look both holy and dangerous at the same time.

Freed has a very rough and rude way of talking.

He openly insults others and enjoys hurting people and demons.

He can be very violent and cruel, hurting even innocent people for fun.

Freed is also selfish; if things go badly, he will quickly betray or abandon his teammates.

Almost everyone in the story sees him as a villain with no regret or kindness.

Freed was born as part of an experiment by the Sigurd Agency, who tried to create children with hero Sigurd’s genes.

He is a test-tube baby, and was trained from a young age to fight demons and serve the Church.

He used to work with his teacher, David Sarrow.

But Freed liked fighting and killing too much, so the Church considered him a threat and kicked him out.

He then became known as a "stray exorcist," working for different evil leaders after losing his place at the Church.

Freed is skilled at using both guns and swords in battle.

He can fight with light swords and holy bullets, making him very dangerous to demons.

After joining Kokabiel’s team, Freed receives a special factor from Valper Galilei that lets him use the Excalibur swords freely.

Later, Freed is experimented on and turned into a chimera, gaining extra monster powers.

Freed’s most important connection is with his genetic "sister" Rint Selzen (sometimes called Rint).

Their relationship is complicated, since they share the same origins but live very different lives.

After Freed’s death, Rint tries to atone for Freed’s many crimes by building better relationships and promising to live a long, good life.

Freed’s teacher is David Sarrow, who once guided him at the Church.

He works under several leaders, like Raynare, Kokabiel, and Diodora Astaroth, but betrays them if he feels threatened.

Freed is especially cruel to Asia Argento and hates all devils, which angers Issei Hyoudou, Yuuto Kiba, and their friends.

“Who needs a boss who gets beaten by worthless devils? You’re pretty, but you’re way too careless and not too bright. The best you can hope for is being some pervert’s daydream.”

Origins and Exile

Freed is a test-tube child made by the Sigurd Agency to have the blood of the legendary hero Sigurd.

He is raised by the Church and trained as a killing machine, fighting alongside his mentor David Sarrow.

However, instead of just following orders, Freed finds joy in killing.

Because of his twisted nature, Freed is finally kicked out of the Church and becomes a rogue exorcist.

Working with Raynare

Freed first appears under Raynare, working as part of an illegal exorcist group.

He targets devils and humans who make deals with them, killing without mercy.

He also bullies Asia Argento, which brings him into conflict with Issei Hyoudou, who defeats him in a fight.

Betrayal and New Masters

After Raynare is defeated by Rias Gremory, Freed joins Kokabiel, a high-ranking fallen angel.

He teams up with Valper Galilei, getting a factor that helps him wield the Excalibur swords.

Freed attacks the Gremory group again, but Yuuto Kiba breaks Excalibur and beats him.

Joining Chaos Brigade and Becoming a Chimera

With Kokabiel gone, Freed joins the Chaos Brigade, a terrorist group.

They experiment on Freed, turning him into a chimera, part human, part monster.

Working for Diodora Astaroth, Freed faces the Gremory group once more—this time angrier and stronger.

During this time, Freed reveals secrets about Asia Argento being kicked out of the Church, making Issei and the others furious.

In the end, Freed is defeated and killed by Yuuto Kiba, his old rival.

Lasting Impact and Further Connections

Freed remains one of the most hated villains because of his crimes and attitude.

Even after his death, his sister Rint Selzen appears, trying to atone for Freed’s wrongs and live differently.

Other characters from the Sigurd Agency, like Sieg, also show up in later parts of the story.

Freed’s name comes from Siegfried, a German hero, with a twist to make it sound more villainous.

Even though he is evil, Freed is sometimes very popular in fan works, where he can appear as both an enemy and an ally.

In the light novel "Slash/Dog," Freed appears as a thirteen-year-old working for the Vatican alongside his teacher, David.

He has several wild adventures during this time, giving us more of his dark side.

Freed’s story is not finished; author notes have hinted that he could return in future volumes.
