Jiya

Jiya is the loyal butler serving the Ono family. His real name remains unknown, but he is recognizable for his dangerous driving skills, having nearly hit Haruo Yaguchi on more than one occasion. Though he is gentle and warm by nature, Jiya has had a surprisingly tumultuous and bittersweet life. A self-professed pachinko addict, he is quick to skip out on duties if he knows Akira Ono is safe with Haruo, showing both a devoted and lazy side. He has watched over Akira since childhood and is deeply considerate of her hardships, often acting as her confidant. Jiya’s perspective on Haruo evolves from indifference to genuine respect, viewing him as Akira’s essential friend. Even after a setback at his job due to Moemi Goda’s strict educational methods, Jiya quietly continues to support Akira and is eventually reinstated when the situation improves.

In the high school storyline, Moemi Goda’s harsh rules extend to restricting Akira’s friendships. Jiya attempts to protest, but is quickly overruled and even dismissed from his role as Akira’s driver. Despite this, he continues, along with Makoto Ono, to support Akira from the shadows, ultimately returning to his duties as Moemi Goda eases her approach.

Jiya openly refers to himself as a pachinko addict and will seize any opportunity to play if Akira is otherwise cared for.
