Thomas Coleman was once the heir to the Coleman Viscount family but was disowned and lost his status. He played an important role as Keith Claes' half-brother in the fourth volume of My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! In his youth, he bullied Keith along with his brothers, mainly because Keith was born to a prostitute. As an adult, Thomas became overweight and his skin was covered with pimples, giving him a villainous look. He often blamed others for his failures and was abandoned by his own family. After losing all his money, Thomas spotted Keith—now the heir of the Claes family—and became consumed with jealousy and hate. He got caught up in a scheme run by Sarah, leading to the kidnapping of Keith. Thomas ended up getting used as a source of dark magic, and when Catarina Claes and her friends arrived to save Keith, they found Thomas near death. He later died from weakness, never recovering from his ordeal.
Thomas was described as having a swollen, overweight body and skin dotted with pimples. His appearance was considered ugly and fit the image of a classic story villain.
Thomas had a big ego and thought highly of himself, even though he often failed at what he tried. When things didn’t go his way, he quickly blamed those around him and lashed out with harsh words. He never took responsibility for his own actions.
During his childhood, Thomas bullied Keith because of Keith’s background. He didn’t care about hurting others and thought he was always right. Over time, his selfishness caused more problems for himself and his family.
Thomas is the son of the head of the Coleman Viscount family in the Kingdom of Sorcier, making him a distant relative of Catarina Claes. He is Keith Claes’ half-brother. He first appeared in Keith’s memories in the web version and early volumes, but he only gets a full role in the fourth volume of the light novel.
As a child, he and his brothers bullied Keith for being the son of a prostitute. After a magic accident hurt Thomas and his brothers, Keith was left with deep emotional scars and was sent to live with the Claes family.
As Thomas grew older, his negative traits only got stronger. He kept blaming others for his problems instead of changing himself. Eventually, his real brother overtook him as the heir, and Thomas was forced out of the house with little money and a small, shabby home.
From Heir to Outcast
Even though Thomas was supposed to inherit the family title, he slowly lost his chance because of his bad attitude and troublemaking. His brother became the new heir, and Thomas was given only a little money and a poor house before being kicked out.
Jealousy Toward Keith
Living in growing poverty, Thomas saw Keith in town one day. He became furious and jealous when he saw Keith, the half-brother he used to look down on, looking happy and wealthy with the Claes family.
Falling for Sarah’s Scheme
Sarah, a character looking for a source of dark magic, noticed Thomas’s growing hatred for Keith. She used his anger to involve him in a kidnapping plot.
During the plan, Thomas helped Sarah capture Keith and hurt him to vent his own frustrations. However, Thomas also became a tool for Sarah's dark magic. Over time, his strength faded because Sarah was draining his life force.
Downfall and Death
When Catarina Claes and her friends found their hideout, Thomas was already close to dying. He was arrested, but his body was too weak to recover. Not long afterwards, it was revealed that he died from exhaustion and loss of life energy.
Thomas is one of the rare characters in the main story to clearly die (in the anime, his death is left uncertain).
- Keith Claes: Half-brother whom Thomas bullied in childhood. Thomas grew to hate him even more when Keith succeeded where he failed.
- Coleman Viscount family: His own family eventually rejected him because of his behavior.
- Sarah: Used Thomas in her dark magic plan.
- In the original web version and early volumes, Thomas only appears in Keith’s memories and is not named.
- He first appears in person in volume four of the light novel.
- Thomas’s downfall is a result of his own choices and bad attitude.
